They started out as a K-Pop fan living in Korea, but after 18 surgeries and $150,000, they’ve become quite the news story. Now, they've made a claim that has shocked the world. Oli London is back with a new identity.

At this point I am just gonna be grateful that Oli is not a skin peeler serial killer, for feeling so detached from his original identity amd wanting to live in someone else's skin. This just meant that Jimin is still alive and still safe, away from his grasp. I guess that much of certainty is still a blessing ☝ despite the walking mannequin roaming the street in Korea

What I will say is that this person likely has a very poor sense of identity and either doesn't like themselves, doesn't know themselves, or is so detached from reality that they have no concept of having a sense of self. Being offended by this person doesn't get anyone anywhere, because it is an unreasonable premise of belief. You can't reason with non-reason. They were unable to "find themselves" and instead decided to become someone else. It's dangerous. There are a lot of individuals like this that latch onto celebrities or a person in their own social life and obsess over it until it becomes something completely serious and absolutely out of hand.

I have a trans Korean friend who is very uncomfortable by this. She understands if someone really likes her culture and wants to live in Korea, but going so far and changing your appearance to look like someone who is Korean and frantically posting online about it and saying your Korean is where she draws the line. And I myself a non-binary person is very offended that Oli is mocking Enby people. Also gender and race don’t work the same way, gender is a social rule, race/ethnicity is biological no matter how many surgeries you do you will not be Korean.

Olli just thinks that becoming another person, and another race is soooo easy as if there wouldn’t be an issue. But what Olli clearly didn’t think of, is acknowledging that person and race. Olli honestly don’t care. You can’t just claim that you are Korean out of no where and abandon your own race that you are born with. You can still be your own race and acknowledge Korean culture but clearly Olli didn’t really want to do that. Its frightening to think that Olli is trying to become Jimin and even more frightening of what Jimin feels towards this.

The idea of “transracial” seems to borderline with fetishizing ethnicities & races, in the sense that someone is bored with their own racial identity and simply wants to live someone else’s life. This doesn’t seem like something the LGBT+ community needs to support. Also, I hope this person realizes that the support they’re getting from the US right wing is just attempting to mock the idea of non traditional lifestyles.

@@Woomy6969 its a real word though. but the meaning is nowhere near the made up definition that oily the colonizer created for himself. transracial korean adoptees will always be korean no matter what. it is with the losses of culture and family, and the lack of asian role models in the adoptees life that leads to identifying as "transracial". imagine your whole life you never see anyone of the same race as you. not even your family. it affects you mentally. you look in the mirror and begin to deny what you see. it is a phase all adoptees go through, but one that most of us outgrow. we dont actually think were white. its a coping mechanism from the toxicity of racism. and because when you grow up around people for a long time, you feel comfortable around them. eventually, most of us realize though that we need to embrace who we are as koreans. as asians. whereas oil actually thinks he can change races, which is ridiculous.

Right. Anyone of any race can be of any nationality... But not ethnicity. So I wouldn't have a problem with him claiming he's Korean if he: had Korean citizenship, was currently living in Korea, or spending at least half of every year in Korea. But I think he's trying to identify as Korean ethnicity. And that's not something he can be, not ever. It can't happen. And it's sad that he thinks that he can. Just "looking" like a Korean is not what it means to BE KOREAN (and I'm not saying he does, but he thinks he does). Apparently, he actually thinks he has Korean DNA... 🤦🏻‍♀️ Nationality, yes; ethnicity, no.

I love france, id love to be french, and sometimes i wish i was french but instead of being a crazy manic like oli over here im learning the language and history and culture so i can some day move to france and become a official citizen and appreciate their country and culture in a human respectful way, if he really loves the country so much he would be respectful and teach himself about the place and learn the language and culture and move there

Yeaah! As long as you don't decide to use fran/cais as pronouns, it's alright XD I bet he doesn't even know Korea's culture and history so it is TOTALLY offensive to Korean people! You don't just pick up a nationality as if you were in the supermarket, you WORK for it!

Out of all the people you had to give this man attention. He thrives off attention. You have just opened a can of worms that you will never be able close. He doesn’t care if it’s negative or positive attention as long as the attention is on him. I am 95% percent sure he will mention this on his social media or in his next music video.

@@stumac923 From what I've noticed, most of the problematic people are the more "famous" ones. I'm not on TikTok, but most of my friends follow non-mainstream stuff like Asian American lifestyles, anime and anime artists and (legitimate) food recipes, and many of those users are non-problematic.
