It's like what happened to Danny Worsnop. He blew out his throat back in 2012 or 13 I think, and ever since he has recovered perfectly fine but his singing has definitely changed. He has more rasp than he used to but he's become an even better singer overall from going through the trauma and the training / rehab. the problem (at least what I am concerned about ) is that he have already showed some signs before. I'm not a specialist, but his voice in the song "Doomed" in That's the Spirit... it was so raw, and I do not think it was in a healthy way. Also, he lowered the key of some of the songs when played them live (without a reason, apparently) and still had Jordan Fish singing with him. Maybe Jordan was completely planned, but lowering the key of your own song? I honestly can't see why he'd do that (english is not my native lenguage, so sorry if I got any terms mistaken)
@MaPleWoRlDOrder5 жыл бұрын
I don't know if he actually has a career anymore. He's always had bad technique and I think this is it finally catching up to him. He will have to alter how he sings clean vocals/do them correctly or his career is over. It's too late at this point for him to go back to his old styles so he's basically pigeonholed himself into doing the style of vocals that hurts him. I could be wrong tho. He might be able to get a much better technique and still be able to do cleans well enough. But that might takes years of practice and idk if his career can survive that.

If you seen him live this last tour you know they play songs from their older albums, sepiternal, count your blessings and such, I’m convinced that’s how it happened, they didn’t just play their new album, it was fifteen song set and they only played 4 of their new songs from AMO . Essentially it’s everyone who is dogging them for not screaming anymore are at fault. We have known for years that Oli’s voice has been damaged but they wanted to appease the fans and this is the result.
@BrandonPerezOne5 жыл бұрын
Not true at all. BMTH doesn't listen to metal or care for the genre anymore that's why they stopped making that music. They said it themselves they don't care what metal fans think of them so why try impressing anyone? And if screaming does damage his voice why did he still do it on the new album? He's been doing this for years now. What he really lacks is vocal technique. There last tour whenever they were just a couple songs in Oli was already out of breathe singing the new songs.
@jordanmattingly48545 жыл бұрын
Brandon Perez have you watched any of the interviews they’ve done? They have literally said they still care about their old fans and music but it was time for them to move on and do what they want not to be stuck in the mold of what others want. They have literally and I quote said they want to, and love to, be the band that bridges others from pop rock to metal.And yes, he did lack vocal techniques, and it has damaged his voice that’s why he only does it on TWO songs on this last Album, because guess what, they still enjoy heavier music too. Of course he’ll be out of breath, you sing a 15 song set while jumping around and screaming and singing and not lose your breath. EVERY high energy concert I’ve been to the singer runs out of breath three, four songs in, that’s part of it, they are jumping, sweating, and every thing in between. I’ve never seen so much hate given to one band because they made an album of music they wanted to make. Nobody is entitled to anything. Weird thing is this is their most popular release to date.
