Olight Headlamp Comparison: Perun 2 VS. Perun 2 Mini - 1,100 or 2,500 Lumens?

These are my favorite flashlights, I own both. And I also would like a color filter system of some sort. I edc both as well, and sometimes bring the headband along, great for under a house or car, or anything!!

What I found out after the fact is that it (Perun 2 mini) also fits in the Baton 4 Premium case. Super happy I opted for it as bundle when I got my Baton 4 Premium

Feel it was a big downside to not have a red led on big one would be very usefull

I have the bigger Perun 2 and its awesome. It is a tad heavy, but the head strap is well designed and supports the weight. Now, I just got mine so I don't know if they improved the strap since it first debuted. As always, impeccable quality that you feel as soon as you pick it up.

I collect knives and flashlight and when I tell you I didn't hear the first minute and a half because I was looking at that sweet mat he has I'm not kidding I'm going to buy that right now

Have you tried fitting the perun 2 into the mini headband to see if the clip will slot into it? Or is it too large in diameter?

This sale I went with their flagship advertisement (Arkflex/Seeker 4 USB-C) and a Seeker 4 pro in NW so I can finally see what all the fuss is about with neutral white! Hopefully it doesn’t ruin CW for me because that’s what all my other Olights are! 🤞🏼 lol

I got the Arkfeld Flex, too! Last sale I got the Seeker 4 Pro. Love them both. Already used them for auto and plumbing repairs.

Bashful j88 ,I was aware of the sensor but not the timer. Must not have overlooked that in the manual. I own the 2 in blue and large in size. What's up with the head gears buckles one faces out and one in ?

Just got a mini. Cool form factor, but beam is very hot spotty - poorly suited to headlamp/floody application

I had a few Peruns and it's just too heavy/headstrap,wouldn't tighten for me. I got rid of one after ordering a Perun 2 mini so now I will have both options. Won't get rid of the bigger one because of the special color and like you mentioned, it is an OK pocket light.

I don’t know why Olight frick around with the 16340, For a headlight 21700 is too big and 16340 just too small my Convoy H1 is just brilliant get one

It's a nice compact size and I love how light weight it is, I barely notice wearing it. 24h of charge on low is good enough for walking. I can also stick it on things like my sewing machine for extra light which is nice.

The normal perun gets smashed by the armytek in my opinion but the perun mini is a special light for sure

That wide battery range is sucks better if it was solid green 60 or more blinking green 60-30 red 30-10 blinking red 10-1

Love the perun2, moonlight mode works great around camp.. great light... now the mini, what a disappointment, headband sucks, why even have a top strap holder, olight doesn't even make an accessory.. red light is used for more up close tasks 40 lumens really.. Hate how the flap you gotta make tighter and the you got that rubber touching your forehead... and its not even slightly magnetic.. Real let down for sure..

I can understand the desire for a bit more power, but I think going with the 16340 was the better move for a couple reasons*. One it keeps the light smaller for EDC, even though the difference would probably not be all that much. More importantly though the Perun 2 Mini will work with a primary battery up to the medium light level. That gives one the option of having a few long shelf life primary batteries as a backup. I even tried a CR123 battery that "expired" in 2014 and it ran on moonlight level. I also like that it will work with the Perun Mini. [*keep in mind that my statement is made without having had a 16350 light or considering the possible option of a longer tube accessory for more power] What I would really like is Olight to come out with a charging case that would be compatible with the Perun 2 Mini that is cross compatible with the Baton 3 and that at least on occasion serve as a powerbank. That could allow one to swap lights in and out, top up, as you point out that small battery, and also albeit less conveniently, serve as a powerbank to keep the Perun 2 Mini running using the charging cable, before one even gets around to the potential to make that important bit of charge to one's phone in an "emergency. For more power, perhaps they will also update the Perun with the Perun 2 styling for better headlamp use along with a neutral white option. At least my sample of the Perun is just way too cool with that broad beam for me to see with unless I crank it way up. I don't have the same issue with my Perun 2, but find it a bit heavy if I am contorting under something, or for long time head wear. Great as a right angle flashlight with occasional headlamp use or if one really needs a lot of light.
