That’s quite a light. Love the lantern mode and magnetic base. That would be awesome for work. I don’t necessarily collect flashlights but I do have some nice ones that work really good. Seems like every year they come out with something that does a little more or is a little brighter. 👍👍

@@GreyManPrepping At around 15:40 you mention "hang this somewhere and do some garden work at night." Looking I see you have a post to conveniently sit it on. That works great. However, one of the things I have been considering about this light is there is no way to actually hang this light and use it in lantern mode. One can hang it upside down and use the front facing light downward, e.g. with an Oclip or some fastener in the tripod or 1/4" socket. But I don't see a way to hang this in lantern mode or design a way to do it. Perhaps a little platform around the size of the charging dock, with a tripod screw and four monofilament lines running up to a hook? Anyway you highlighted something I have been pondering. I do wish the front light was neutral white as I don't like CW much anyway and find it particularly jarring to go from a nice warm white lantern to a cool white front flashlight. One thing I do like is that if one does mount the charging dock, using it as a lantern, it is easy to grab the Prowess out of it, to use as a flashlight.Thanks for the review. I like the gardens, they look great.

Hey Grey, said before how much I hate reviews, but only because I want the products reviewed, if it is good product. 😂😂😂 Man, at this time just sinking money into my farm and things like solar and hand pumps for the well, everything needed for goat milk, butter, cheese processes, expanding my quail and rabbits, more canning jars, lids and rings as well as everything else....I figure in one more year to move completely out to the farm. Have my middle daughter and her family out there now and my oldest grandson (from my oldest daughter) out there too. I want to be as far away from the cities as possible when it all goes to heck...just my opinion, but we haven't seen nothing yet and I just may cut it shorter and move before the elections this November.

There is no lanyard, I assume someone could craft one. What they did is make the bottom magnetic for metal surfaces. Of course, they also added a 1/4 in thread hole in the base of the bottom cap to attach it to any type of tripod system as well. I'm not sure if that helps for your applications, but I figured I'd mention it. Thanks for watching! 😁👍

I'm using my mounting clip that came with the unit. It's attached to my work bench, which is connected through my type c charging brick.

It's a proprietary battery so you have to buy it from Olight.

Technically, yes, if you have an understanding of battery chemistry and ohms law, you can buy 3rd party batteries. I just prefer to keep folks safe so they don't stock a battery that's not rated for the high draw and create a fire hazard. 🔥

@@GreyManPrepping but this particular battery has the positive and negative terminal on the same side. I collect torches and I have never found another battery that will work in an olight expect the OEM.

@Studat interesting I've used LG & Samsung button tops with most of my olights as long as the specs lineup. They won't charge via the body of the flashlight, though. I work in a shop that sells lithium batteries and have played around a bit with this option. Again, I do advise against it. I watched a video years ago where a gentleman disassemble olights batteries and compared them to others and showed available options. I was still skeptical, but after trying various options , I found a few that fit the bill. The charging was the only problem I could not resolve as the way olight designs their batteries.
