On the previous auction video, JR tried to bid $3,500 for Oliver. The owner “no saled” at that price bc she wanted $5k. I don’t believe his price went up due to the campaign to save him. I do agree that his previous owner was selfish and greedy.

It’s amazing that the breeder came forward and said that he was healthy and was willing to discuss Oliver. That speaks volumes about the quality of the breader and then about horse traders. My heart breaks for that sweet colt and the misery he endured but thank God for his good fortune to find people that care!! Kisses to sweet Oliver!!

I theink Oliver felt a bit sad to be on the set for the inventory of his expense report from the new acquisitions committee. It’s all about the money I costed with these guys he is thinking. Horses (some, this one, plenty of others….aren’t just not dumb folks, they hear -and say-plenty. But yeah, definitely keep feeding him, apparently he’s worth a lot of money!! 😂😂❤ …This video (posted four hours ago on march 16) seems a bit disconnected or out of sequence in terms of when Oliver (already) got diagnosed with epm thing, that was on the weekend wasn’t it?? It’s like today JR knows less than he did five days ago or something?? It’s a crazy amount of money to score off this poor guy. It’s just bad for his self esteem to make him part of this kind of conversation and then follow it up with this big fuss over his donations. I wouldn’t do it that way anyways.😮😢

@@Laurencemardon aka Troll. I think Oliver liked all his new things! I don't think the camera bothers him at all. He likes the company of people if u have been watching all the videos. He likes being cared for properly, and appreciated, talked to, included, pampered & LOVED. He liked the Purine equine feed they gave him, his bridle thing was a bit too big but he has some growing to do still...but he didn't even care when they tried it on him. He LOVES the apple treats that he will be sharing with his stall buddies cuz he got so many! And NO they didn't "score" off of saving Oliver. His price, travel expenses, his feed, his medicines, vet visits, & (farrier costs are higher for a Clydesdale usually) cost money that the previous owners obviously didn't fork out. The previous owner got 5K but do u think all that is going to properly care for a 100 horses down there? Why don't u go find out what those people are doing w all that cash, instead of trolling ppl that are trying to do good. I thought it was great that they showed his gifts & appreciated & recognized the people who gave them. And nobody cares if the video was "out of order" ....geez....get a life!

Terrible what can happen to a healthy one year old in just one year after being sold. There must be so many Olivers out there who have gone through the same. Oliver is a beacon highlighting the plight of all those other one year olds... many of whom probably won't live to see a third year. What you are doing for Oliver and involving so many people in making it possible is heart warming Hopefully by next year Oliver will be a star, bright eyed, head proud and kicking up his heels in a gallop across the field! How many of those horses have now died from neglect and starvation - are there no humane societies empowered to inspect and regulate living standards. I'm furious on behalf of you, and the horses. When I saw the photo of Oliver at the point when the Amish farmer sold him I was utterly shocked and appalled! Such a handsome, healthy boy! To see his devastating decline was heatbreaking. He was not only physically healthy but emotionally healthy, a lively, happy young animal. Are there no regulations governing these auction houses and other entities in that chain? I am probably hoping against hope that there are. If anybody can repair this boy, give him what he needs, it's obviously y'all. Wishing you all the luck in the world.

While I was glad to hear about where Oliver came from originally, and I have always known those horse auctions are frequently not good places, I continue to find it very sad and very disturbing as to where Oliver subsequently ended up before he got to you. The zimecterin, vet wrap and one of the salt blocks is from me. As someone who grew up with horses the zimecterin brand is what we always used. Vet wrap is just always nice to have and you never know when you'll need to use it, it can be used for any of the animals.

I love the way you look after your horses and how you train them for when they are ready to ride and I wish that you can try and train him to lay down for a person to get in the saddle as it will help you get in the saddle easy as I have a bad hip and I have trouble getting in the saddle and I can not get a decent thick build horse that can be trained to lay down as I can not use steps to get into the saddle and I need a paddock near where I live in mayfield west Australia in n.s.w and I can not pay big bucks for a horse but I would give a good home to one that needs a home as I use to have a horse when I was 16 years old and he was in very bad condition when I first got him but I had to send him back when he nilly killed me as he was broken in ruffly and had spur marks from shoulder to his flank and when he got back to where he come from he got bitten by a red belly black snake and he passed away and if I had a good paddock I would of not sent him back as he was a very good at flowing trot he looked like gliding on air

I have no clue horses are new to me I was watching humane groups save slaughter horses and you came up. That's the algorithm working in your favor. Save the ones you can.

Take comfort in the fact that He is using Oliver and you to bring all these generous and loving viewers to perform acts of kindness, in His name, whether they realize it, or not. Same for the anonymous donations. Some persons want their giving to be secret, knowing that He will see it, and that is enough. Your viewers generosity, and your own gratitude, are palpable, and warms my heart.

@@homesteadhorsemanship even if u save him and he can go on to be a happy "working" horse somewhere, that is one of the best things for him. Horses need a purpose...just like people. Who knows, maybe one day he can be part of a 2 horse mini- Budweiser event at local/regional fairs/events. He would probably love a buddy to do that with. You never know....

Oliver's breeder must have been heartbroken when he found out what condition this foal ended up in. Oliver has been severely neglected for a year.... It's criminal what the previous owner did. They should be paying every single penny from the vet's bills. I couldn't breed animals. I would be too afraid that something like that happens one day. THANK YOU for saving this horse.

His original breeder giving ya’ll pointers for how to handle and help him regain his health is so heartwarming. Oliver is so blessed that ya’ll got him from that retched environment! I know he’s got a long road to recovery from the abuse and neglect he’s been through, but he’s young, and he’s got his momma’s temperment, so it’s only upwards from here!~ 💙
