Americans movie makers very close minded. They would rather have a black American pretend to be Jamaican. They are not that open to using anything or any person that truly represents the beautiful part of Jamaican culture 😢

9;02 That's what it means to find something you're passionate about, and you'll work a day in your life. In essence, your hobby is what pays you. So,you're not working. That's why Oliver still finds joy after 50 years. Most of us can't wait fi di 8hrs fly by fi wi gah wi yard! Because there's no joy,or passion. Just a means to an end.

i think you homework question was clever. oiver spoke about the lack of documentation in preserving the culture but this episode (and perhaps channel) has done a great job of documenting some key figures in the cultural space. i hope you'll do the homework too and maybe do a follow up interview or presentation on some of the names he mentioned. good job
@ermasmall5509Ай бұрын
Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do. What is Oliver doing as a legend to help preserve the culture, rather than complaining. My heart bleeds when I see the condition of Ward Theatre ; a place where we always look forward to every new year to attend Pantomine. I always wonder if the actors who have passed through the halls of that building cannot come together and plan for its renovation. I’m sure others would join in and make it happen. People may not want to go downtown but it should be preserved as an Historical monument.

Berry, part of conducting an interview is allowing the interviewee to express their full thoughts before hitting them with an additional comment or question. You are talking too much which is disruptive and makes the interview choppy. Lastly, you sound like the hype man at church. When Oliver speaks, you exclaim. Almost felt like I was in church when the deacon or elder is telling the parson to “preach parson”! You appear star struck during this interview and trying a little too hard to relate
