These prices are outrageous and are only possible because people with high incomes are willing to pay them. These prices are also in stark contrast to existing rents. If you live alone and have a well-paying job, you might be able to afford it. But what happens when you start a family? Would that mean paying 3000€ for 100 square meters? How will you afford the rent then? I would appreciate it if you would feature families on your channel who pay "real" rents. Maybe also showing the daily struggle. That would be much better than this pretty portrayal of "everything is great" and 1300€ for 60 square meters being no problem.

I like the idea behind these videos, but these are very *not* typical Berlin apartments or rents. I hope you are able to find more typical apartments in the city to tour with more realistic rents. Rents are rising, but these rents you're showing are absolutely not the norm. They're the exception.

Thank you for sharing your perspective! I really appreciate your input. However, have you recently checked the rental prices on platforms like ImmoScout or other similar sites? Most listings these days are significantly higher than the older, more typical Berlin rents or even what people may currently be paying under older contracts. The market has changed a lot recently, and these higher rents seem to be becoming more common, unfortunately.

@@OliveraDarko I was flat hunting last year and even attended a viewing for an Altbau 2-room apartment 47m2 for 450€ warm (granted, the toilet was insaneeeee and weird), but there are lots of affordable apartments around. It's the new builds that have very high rents bc the cost of building now is sooooo expensive.

@@voneffen That’s really interesting to hear! Did you find those places on ImmoScout or through someone you know? I live in a new build myself and totally agree with what you’re saying…the rent here is way too high 🙄 That being said, it’s not always easy to find people who are comfortable with filming their apartments, but I’m working on it and hoping to showcase a good mix of places in the new year!
