Sold my RS3 this last June. I had it for 3 years, 30k miles. Hands down the best car I've ever owned. I didn't see myself trading it in so soon but life happens. I ended up in something faster out of the box and more suited for the southern climate ;). These cars are pretty stout and regular maintenance is about it. If you tune, just double up on your maintenance i.e. do oil changes every 5k vs 10k, plugs, and other oils at 1/2 their recommended mileage (this is IF you tune). I was stock for 30k miles and it was more than enough for me! Great video for people looking into getting one!

Quick note as an RS3 owner myself. If you drive it hard check the oil level frequently. Minimum once a month. Keep your oil level ridding the max line too. IROZ made that recommendation as they found it can lead to some oil starvation issues in hard driving. They make an oil pickup spacer which helps. I’m currently JB4 and this thing went from a 3.9 0-60 down to a 3.4. Should be good for a 11.4-11.6 1/4 mile on pump gas. 😎

I’m debating between OG M2 vs 2018 RS3 and keep going back and forth. Can you share more feedback?
@nicks63842 жыл бұрын
@@zonnie888 Absolutely! The RS3 is undoubtedly faster and is a better platform to build on if you want to make massive power easily, while the M2 handles better which I expected going from RWD to AWD. Both cars sound awesome with an aftermarket exhaust.. though I prefer the RS3s sound. Interior quality is better in the RS3 as the OG M2 basically has the interior of a 235i with a little alcantara. After 4 months of ownership I can say the RS3 is an epic daily and has plenty of room for a car seat. I do miss how well the M2 handled and would love to have one again. You should definitely test drive both if you can.
@zonnie8882 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nick! Yes the awd is important to me because I live in Canada and we do see snow 3-4 months of the year which would render the m2 useless because we’re quite hilly and the snow comes down pretty hard. Oliver, I thought the same thing when it came to a TCU tune. I thought it couldn't be that much better. I'll wait until I really need it (stage 2). I read on forums that you would lose most of the pops and bangs with the TCU tune so I stayed away. I ran into someone who tunes all types of cars, foreign and domestic and he said " So your gonna upgrade the power that's coming out of that motor and transfer that power to an unassuming stock transmission?, good luck with that." So that stuck with me. My ECU/ TCU tunes we're going on sale, so I said why not? I'm going stage 2 soon anyway. Let me tell you it makes a huge difference! Manual mode shifts instantly with Zero lag. There are so many things you can customize your TCU to do. I'm driving a completely new car now. I couldn't believe I didn't do it sooner. It's just my experience but you won't regret it. Good luck.

I thought too that I could leave it sit more often. Anytime it is out of sight out of mind its easy to forget how good it is. Easy to take for granted because you let it sit for a while but it will remind you quickly what it is. But I thought cost of tires should be mentioned.

I think these are potential areas of concern to be noted about the car. I’m a taller guy and wanted to love the RS3, but a car is more than just an engine and sound alone. Keep working at the content!

Hi Ezra, thanks for the feedback. Due to the single turbo set up, low end torque is there for sure. However that is also one of the things I like about the cad because it feels very different from other cars on the market. I’ve never really faced any waste gate issue especially a tune can fix that! Yes I would say the manual adjustment for the seats is kinda annoying but you learn to live with it, do I wish it has power seats? Yes. But can I without it as well? Yes.

If you want luxury then go for a S4/S5/RS5. RS3 is barely in the luxury department. The manual seats is mainly for weight reduction in the RS3. If you want power seats, go for the RS3 8Y (2022 models). Other than that, I'm 6'1" (186 cm) and I fit the RS3 comfortably. Wastegate rattle can be eliminated through a tune like Oliver mentioned.

Oh jeez, I wonder why a 3 series Audi interior is worse than that of a 4 series trim level? Hmmm

Good content..But just to make it clear DQ250 is a 6 speed and used for tranverse engine and definitely not used on the S4..The B8/B8.5 S4 is a 7 speed uses DL501

I am shopping for my next car, and bit worried with current 2nd had market this might be bad time. I test drove S5 which has stunning interior but I just feel it was missing something. I think I might have to test drive RS3. I be doing max 10k km a year, so RS3 might be a good choice. Thoughts?

Been watching your videos since you had the B8.5 S4. I also have a B8.5 S4. I have been putting money away for the last 6 months to make a down payment on either a RS3 or F8x M3/M4. I live in Ohio so being AWD, it has an upperhand (I also have an E46 M3) to drive in the summer. I was just wondering if you could please let me know or even make a video about the specs (paint, options, packages) what to look for in the RS3 and what yours has. Thanks :)

I’ve ordered 2022 RS3 in Australia. Due here around June 2022 so it’s next years birthday present to myself. I plan to mod the car to stage 3. Not happy with colour selection so I’ve ordered Kemora Grey and will get it wrapped in Nardo Grey ( no longer available as standard or optional colour)

What do you guys do about the warranty after modding a new car? I have a Meteor (Nardo) Grey 2020 Skoda Octavia RS Wagon I'm keen to get a stage 1 and DSG tune on, but don't want to void the warranty which runs out in Dec 2024. Long time to wait!!!
@mg60263 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe that a stage 1 ECU and TCU re-tune would void your warranty. In Australia, a dealer / car manufacturer has to prove that a modification has caused the warranty claim. If it didn’t then the warranty on the particular issue would not be affected.

Thinking about trading my 22 supra for a 2019 RS3 with ALL the options available. Idk about RS3 transmission but mine is a monster.What do you say? Go for it? I might miss the attention I get on my car cause all Audis look exactly the same.

M2 competition vs rs3 which one is better?
@Skeetopunk012 жыл бұрын
RS3 is better. However.. M2 CS is the best looking car of all in this class. I would take that M2 CS over the RS3 if given a choice. M340i is a better comparison as it’s b58 motor. All wheel drive option and a 4 door. Pluses in my book.

Rs3 by far the faster car tuned on the street - quite a few videos proving this - you don’t mess with a full frame turbo RS3 unless you are a 1800hp plus GTR or same power twin turbo lambo
