When I was eleven years old in 1971 Olivia made her first UK TV appearance singing her first hit 'If Not for You' (fabulous Bob Dylan cover) and instantly fell madly in love. My mother could not drag me away from the TV at my grandparents' house until the song was over. I was mesmerized and stayed madly in love with her for her entire career. I moved to the USA and live in San Francisco so on my 40th birthday in 2000 I took the shuttle flight to Las Vegas and treated myself to her Vegas concert. There I was this forty-year-old grown (gay) man sitting on my own crying with joy in the seats at the front. Just a little bit. She sang for two hours and was pitch-perfect. Wonderful woman.

I have been a fan of ONJ since I was 9 years old. As talented as she was the most remarkable thing about her to me is I have never seen her put on any airs, ever. She was one of the biggest stars on the planet and it is almost like no one ever told her. It is so refreshing to remember given how many famous people are convinced of how important they are. Every conversation, interview, whatever with Olivia she is content being herself; entirely genuine, humble and grateful.

Olivia really stood out above all of the others. This graceful angel had it all. What an era in music. There will never be another time like those 50 years & certainly never another like Olivia! Extraordinary Talent, Beauty, Humanity, Never Ending Kindness. Olivia was 73, very ill & yet, she still had nothing but joy & kindness to give to others. The memory of Olivia's Smile, Her Beautiful Heart, Exquisite Voice, Wonderful Music & Olivia's Enormous Humanitarian Contributions will remain with us in our world. How lucky we are. I am certain that she feels the love that comes from every corner of the globe. Moreso, that she knows immeasurable peace and joy as she rests in eternity. 💜 N-J 🕊️

Olivia went on lengthy school field trip with her daughter on a bus full of Chloe's peers, they were touring many California sites. This was in the mid 1990s, I was working at the Marshall Gold Discovery State Park museum when they came in, I enjoyed meeting and talking to Olivia and her daughter Chloe. When I asked Olivia to sign our guest book she asked me to also ask her daughter to do the same. That she did that and went as chaperone for her daughter and her friends, I will always remember as a wonderful example of what a good mother she was.
