At the time I thought so too, but upon rewatch after season 6 I think it's more about feeling powerless to stop her father and break free of his control. That was the point of the whole brother/sister thing and telling Jake's back story. Just as he couldn't save his real sister from his father, she can't save her fake brother from her father. She is broken because she is starting to accept that the only way to beat Rowan and break free is to out-monster him. I am not going to say she doesn't care about Jake, but I think her feelings about him are less about her really wanting to be with him and more about feeling powerless to save him.

Oh my gosh... She is destroyed essentially because of her father... She is also destroyed because of her murder. When she says she felt good when she killed Andrew, I'm sure she is broken deep down. I can't believed she felt good... This is so shocking to hear her saying that... I am sure this is PTSD again... Her kidnapping changed her a lot and the fact she murdered Andrew changed her even more. She is terrified to be like her father, she is afraid for Jake and for her... She needs to talk... Huck knows her very well. He loves her like a true friend. He knows she is... Yes... Broken... The Olivia we knew in season 1 changed a lot. She was going through so many things. She is very strong but she has her failures and, currently, she is breaking down. I hope she is gonna to be okay and that she will be through this. She needs to be helped but the thing is she doesn't talk very much... The fact she talked to Huck is very special for me. She is very complex. She is a (fictional) human being who have a very hard life and she needs to talk MORE! She is suffering of PTSD and it is destroying her because, normally, she is not like that... Whew Liv really needs therapy but we all know they are using this for plot point purposes and they will gloss over this again like her PTSD never existed. I think that SR started out that with him and Liv then she knew that this isn't what is supposed to be in Scandal and changed things. I'm hoping most of us *Scandal* fans appreciate intellect, humor, sarcasm, a bit of espionage and action scenes more than *just* the sex scenes. I actually love the fact that Jake and Liv were close friends first (even though Olivia got it in her head that in order for a guy to love/ like you, you spread your legs and give them what they want - all thanks to Fitz). I love how before Jake got to meet Liv personally, he already fell inlove with her personality (some people are still in denial that Fitz *gave Jake orders* to spy on her and report back to him. Because that is not obsessive stalker behaviour from a President that is supposed to run a country). I also love how Jake was the one Liv confided in, not Abby, Huck or the married man. Jake knew her so well that he was patient with her, knowing that she never had a good understanding of what love is. I am happy though that ep.18 happened, Liv and Jake match each other SO well, both are bad-ass at what they do, both had a messed-up childhood but they are intellectual people and they have this sort of wordless communication when they look at each other that I like. I would like to see their relationship progress even further, a nice storyline would be if Liv got pregnant with Jake's baby and them figuring out how to be parents since both of them didn't have a very normal childhood growing up. If shonda already has an ending, probably Liv ending up alone or dying, she can create a lot of happy memories that Liv experiences. After all, this show's lead character *is* Olivia Carolyn Pope and I would just like to see her happy, dangit!

Liv needed Jake to talk to after that election but she had to talk to Huck but he knew that it wasn't only Killing Andrew. It was more than that. That killed them and they called her out for that. Jake will never be good enough for them when it comes to Liv's happiness. It's sad that they want her misserable with that old man. Well i also hope that she ends up with Jake and if not alone. Olivia is no killer, and although bludgeoning Andrew Nichols to death gave her a sense of relief and satisfaction, it was still out of character and happened only after she was pushed to the precipice. Olivia is saying she wants no more blood on her hands, she is not her father, not a monster. She felt she had no other option but to let Jake go or else she'd be the cause of his death. Remember she already blames herself for Jerry's death, so saving Jake from Rowan would have left his blood on her hands as well. I'm hopeful that she'll find a way to beat Rowan, but like most villains Rowan won't die until the very end. As for Jake, I do believe she has love for him, but I don't think that's what she's broken up about in this clip.

Jake did abuse Liv. So it's ok to choke people. Jake choked Liv. Jake was abusive also. Why would you want someone who don't mind putting his hands on you??? Fitz never put his hands on her. They might argued like crazy, but not once did Fitz lay a finger on her. No type of abuse is ok, but if you put your hands on me once; you will continue to do it and not stop.
