My reading routine is partially structured: Every evening I read in bed for a good while to get some rest, and I also read at bedtime. Then the rest of the time I will read whenever I feel like it, or not! And yesss, not everyone can hold books! I read mainly on kindle because holding open books hurts my arms. And there is no shame to tailor our reading experience to be as comfortable as possible, even if you don't have a "reason"!

Absolutely yes to Doctor Who being emotional! It has some of the best storylines to make me think about the big stuff...like, what does it mean to be human? I think Tennant and Smith will always be my favorites, but Capaldi surprised me so much in a good way. As someone who switched to a kindle to read mostly full time cause books hurt my wrist, I appreciate you bringing up that physically some people could need the bedside holder and clicker. I have it on my Amazon list and some day will get it lol. Even after putting a popsicle on my kindle sometimes my wrists just hurt too much to do that. Then I switch to audio books lol. My reading routine; i like to read at night when im getting my mini to sleep and until I'm ready for bed. Bean's eyes are so beautiful 😻!! My Reading routine: (listen or read) 1 hour in the morning around breakfast, some pages when I eat lunch, then a sprint of some kind at night (physical or ebook). The night sprint depends on mental/physical state so it could be at the gamer desk or cozy in bed with fairy lights. I try to be as flexible as possible to make sure I read. I totally agree and consider the trad pub vs indie books in this routine too.

My reading routine lately is picking 2 books at a time to help with mood reading, usually a kindle and physical book. I usually read from the time I get home until bedtime while watching vlogs or listening to mood music or walking on my walking pad. I also work in a school (SLP) as well so I get home pretty early. I just got When the Moon Hatched and I’m so excited! I’m currently reading Fear the Flames and Assassin’s Blade (for the first)!

The comment about students being our children is SO true. I teach all 3 grades too, and have the same kids from year to year, and going through the wild 7th grade phase and the sassy 8th grade phase feels like being a dejected parent I believe.

I am currently reading the last book in the war of lost hearts trilogy by Carrisa Broadbent, I'm about 230-ish pages from the end, and so far book two is my favorite and absolutely a 5 star read! So if you haven't read Children of Fallen Gods I highly HIGHLY recommend you continue. ❤️

It's no secret that I've been STRUGGLING these last few years with reading, every time I even try to read my brain is like NOPE!! I realized that it's because my brain is just so filled up all of the time with just noise, random thoughts, songs, etc... thanks to my ADHD, that reading is just like an extra chore to do on top of all that crap, so it doesn't make it fun for me. But this week I got the audiobook for A Court of Wings and Ruin and it's the one that's the graphic audio and a full cast. Let me freaking tell you, I have read this 700 plus page book in a matter of 3 or 4 days! I never do that, I haven't read any books since December 5th, plus I don't really like big books, they intimidate me. I found that having someone read it to you, while following along with the book, makes it so my brain doesn't really have to think. I'm not a super fast reader, and I can't just skim through the book, I won't retain anything if I do that. So reading along with the audiobook lets me do that, but I also still retain it.

Oof girl! I’ve already wanted to read PHM but you comparing to Dr Who just sealed it as an immediate need. We’ve been rewatching Eccleston up thru Smith on Max and it’s wonderful I’d missed it more than I realized. Capaldi is meh, we gave up after his first season and haven’t touched it since. Nothing compares to those Moffatt story arcs. I do enjoy Eccleston even though he doesn’t get much credit but I realized on rewatch I’m a Tennant girl. I love his whimsy.

Reviews to me are subjective; in the past I've only watched them to see if there are any books that I haven't heard of that I might be interested in. This is why I started my channel (Bookeemonsters) and do my morning show every day of the week looking at the new releases being set into the wild each week.
