I like these interviews. No bullshit, talking the blunt truth no matter how dark. These guys (SAS, SBS, Military) are the real HARDMEN of the human race. It makes the gangsters in Cities who carry knives, rob people, and sell drugs seem absolutely pathetic. The amount of balls and motivation it must take to do the job they do is phenomenal. We can learn a great deal from their wisdom, life lessons, and mindsets. Respect. Great video guys!

I found this video by accident while mindlessly browsing KZbin for music to listen to while writing my resignation letter from my dream university, and a note because I was considering giving up on life entirely. I ended up watching the whole thing and idk, I guess it inspired a shift for me. I deleted the resignation forms, and decided to work a bit harder instead of giving up. I come back and rewarch this one every so often now while trying to get control of my life. I'm about to buy a car after years of being afraid to drive, I just ran my first 5k race after knee and back injuries that had convinced me I couldn't do much of anything anymore. So thank you for that, because I'm not sure I'd be where I am without that.

I'm by no means saying these note are a subtitute for the video. This was an amazing interview and Ollie has so many amazing stories to tell. But here are my take away points, largely in Ollie's words. * Purpose * Start doing things in life and having different experience, putting yourself in uncomfortable situations , don't follow someone else paths * Write down the things that really excite you and this will help you to find your purpose * There is a lot of power in helping other people, that is an incredible gift * Goals * As long as your are passionate enough and doing things from the heart, nothing can stop you * If you don't have a focus you just become a victim of your circumstance, you just get lost in the journey, because you've got nothing bigger pulling you through * We are all goal driven and your mind will not stop until it gets what it is striving for. If you focus on negative things you will get them, if you don't focus on anything, you will get what you don't want * People are too busy chasing an image when they should be chasing a feeling. Looking for something they think will be perfect but once they get it, it's never as good as you imagined. You need to find your purpose by witnessing your feelings and emotions * Don't focus on where you are, focus on where you want to be * Create a goal that is not based on your current circumstance * Have big ballsy goals that you doubt that you can achieve and have multiple goals * Never have a goal you know you can achieve * Tell yourself in the mirror what you want. If you can't it's because of your ego. If you can't even tell yourself what you want, how can you expect to achieve it * People only set goals if they know that they can achieve them again because of their ego and not wanting to look stupid * Visualise * Visualise every day what you want, visualise every sense, imagine yourself completely immersed in the situation you desire * Write a contract to yourself and repeat them every day * Mindset * We are by default negatively wired, it wan't us to keep doing what we're always doing as that is what has kept us alive through time * We are creatures of habit and are socially challenged to create limitations. Once someone else has achieved something and we can see it possible, can achieve it ourselves * You need to learn to become an emotional observer - that is with every emotion. This will allow you to keep your ego in check and learn to control emotions that you don't desire * Until you're mentally prepared you will never be physically ready * If you want to know what you think about, just look at your life. If you want to improve that, you need to improve your thinking * Success * Successes are a series of failures * Persistence beats resistance * You need to push through short term discomfort for any long term gain. * Stop saying there were so many obstacles on the path, the obstacles are the path. It's always short term, embrace the discomfort * Money * You are a fool for chasing money * Extra * The army are just bait to gather intelligence * To lower cortisol you can use a deep breathing technique. When your fight of flight response takes over and you become confused, in this state you can process one or two pieces of information instead of 5-9. Deep breathing allow you to not get caught up in the moment. It's called box breathing * One meter square psychology
