Saw this video and the one where you do 30miles/h last year in 2021. Decided the bike must be good enough, and decided to go all in both training wise, and equipmentwise in December 2021. I wanted to go for Gold Medal in then Norwegian Championship for masters 45-49years old. I knew if I could hold 48km/h like Ollie, that would be enough to win. Then came Covid for me, and there was no Norwegian championship it seemed either. I then applied for the Nordic one, and what a trip. Got the Gold in my class, finishing 30sec ahead of all other winners from 35 years and up. Norwegian championship came by suddenly. Won that one also. Qualified for WorldChampionship GranFondo in Trento Italy. Unfortunately a little sick there, but secured a 5th place in my age group 45-49years. All much because of these two inspiring videos from Ollie and GCN. Thanks for the ride ;-). Makes for a good story ;-).

If you have different tire sizes, the tangential velocity will be different therefore the wheels will rotate at a different rate and that means more friction, more watts and the tires will last less.

No.

@@michaelnewell1 I mean these videos are mostly for entertainment purposes...but it might be interesting to see what they come up with. The rules very well could be restrictive and unnecessary....at the grass roots level of cycling where not everyone has $20K to put down on a bike, I would say restrictive rules are more valuable in creating a level playing field than they would be at the top end of cycling. Pro teams have bike sponsors and also healthy budgets to trick them out with the highest level of gear, and the greatest amount of testing to set the rider up in the fastest configuration.

Aged 22 in 1956 he beats Fausto Copi's world record of the hour. In 1965 Anquetil wins the Critérium of the Dauphiné and the next day - the next day - takes part in the classic Bordeaux-Paris, 560km ( 350 miles) winning the race in 15 hours 3minutes and 3 seconds. The Brit Tom Simpson is only 59 seconds behind.
