Thanks for posting I actually worked Ali Ollie Woodson’s funeral. I used to love when he would sing at church before Bishop would preach. I remember one time we had a fashion show at the church and Ali Ollie sang Treat Her Like A Lady. Everytime he would come to the back to talk to us in the audio booth he would always say Hi baby girl. One of the nicest people I ever met.

Ali Ollie Woodson ♥; he was larger than large, he was greater than great. What a mellow voiced man we had; he was definitely one of the rare vocalists who will hit high notes with the voice capable of ranging from smooth, to husky panctuated by sopranoic falsetto range. He was undoubtedly gifted. May his Soul rest in the peace of our saviour Jesus! Much love from; South Africa 🇿🇦

Ali probably had the purest natural range of all the Tempts lead singers. David is probably most remembered b'cuz of not only his great voice, but also those memorable '60's Motown songs imbedded in our brains forever. Props to them all.

I met this brother years ago, in Minneapolis, at the Carleton Supper Club out on the 494 strip near the airport performing with the Temptations. I was so impressed that I just had to meet the brother. I guess age had made me cynical by that time because I just could not get over how easily approachable & down to earth this brother was. Gone to soon; but I can see how well loved and respected he was with those who knew him well. He would be pleased with the way they sent him home. RIP Ali Ollie.

Love your comment at the end regarding the trivial garbage that passes for news about the silliness that accompanies the "lives" of pop stars black and white while so many legendarily gifted performers like Ali Ollie Woodson continue to soar under the radar even in death. So GOD Bless you for blessing us with this tribute to a truly, uniquely, multi-talented man. Great job!

This was indeed a great tribute to one of the best all-time lead singers for The Temptations. Ollie possessed an angelical voice 2nd to none. I was searching You Tube for a song Ollie sung and wound up watching this in it's entirety. Now, what's ironic to me , is the fact that I read through all the comments here and not one person mention the incorrect information one of the narrators gave on Ollie's background (not that it's a big deal) however, you would think the information you're giving of this nature would be accurate. I knew all about Ollie singing with The Drifters but, he NEVER sang with Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes replacing Teddy P as stated.

Ollie Woodson and I worked together. I as a promoter who hired him on many occasions to perform. I was a huge fan and if I had my way I would have had him perform at every show. I loved him, his aura, his kindness and gentlemanly way. We became good friends. I miss him and think of him often. I just stumbled upon this video. I'm sitting her with tears. I have a recording of him performing a tribute to Luther Vandross I'm going to play today, the 1st day of 2024 and just remember how blessed we all were to have known and heard this man sing. No one like him. "Where's the cookies"

Thank you, Eric J for sharing with the world Ollie's beautiful Homegoing service. It was such a befitting tribute to an incredible musician who was definitely "unsung". As you stated, a lot of his fans didn't even know of his transition due to the lack of media coverage. But that's ok because judging from the number of people at the service, that is a testament that he was well loved and will be missed sorely. Rip, Mr. Woodson. Sing pretty in that Heavenly Choir. Thanks again, Eric J.

This is sad indeed. I cried the whole time. I remember the Brotha from that 80's hit "Treat Her Like A Lady." He had that soul-stirrin voice that you rarely hear today. The only one that comes close is Jaheim-and you rarely hear him now. I also cried for not only for the death of a fine singer such as Ali, I cried for the death of the music industry as we knew it. Sad :-( May Allah give him Paradise for the happiness he has put in many ppls lives with his music.
