I like other spearotubers such as Anvar from Cyprus and Dimos from Greece, but Daniel doesn't camp nor use a kayak, so I prefer Ollie's videos than Mr Mann, no question on that.

couple of those tuna where albacore not skip pies
@thor_68862 жыл бұрын
Glad I'm not the only one who thought the first one that came aboard looked like an alby (no stripes). I'm not an authority, so I didn't comment! Some in the smoker pics definitely were skippies, though,.
@cameronbell2302 жыл бұрын
@@thor_6886 yea you can tell as the albacore have longer pectoral fins, the ones he pulled onto the boat were the albacore.

Ollie, That first tuna brought on board rod and reel looks to be either a Big eye tuna or an albacore. The lack of purple color and striping on the belly and them long pectoral fins give it away. Great content as always though!

@Ollie you should try the Bonito Tataki with Yuzu Ponzu dip. Leave the skin on the fillets, score and heavily salt. Char over an ultra hot flame/fire until the skin is charred, the flesh side should remain pink.

wow, what a wonderland you experience out on those reefs. Great work on the filming. And good info on the skipjack tuna - always wondered about their eating quality, but like some other fish, NZers are pretty disparaging of certain ones even though they've probably never tried them. I reckon a lot of opinions are based on what other people have said, not first hand. So if I get another one, I'll be smoking it!
