Woohoo for you - go, Kelly!!! I can only imagine your excitement at seeing something you created with your own hands from your own mind being made into a stamp set. I used to paint landscapes, & my final painting was a commission by a friend I'd gone through school with of a photo her husband had taken at the Grand Canyon. It was a large-ish painting (I think about 24x30" or so), and took me about 2-1/2 - 3 months to finish. I can remember the near terror in the beginning stages, just being frustrated by initial difficulties, afraid I wouldn't be able to do this and do it well, etc. It was especially stressful because it was going to be an anniversary present from my friend to her husband, so I felt pressured to do an outstanding job. Thankfully, everything did work out, and they loved it! So I think I can understand some of your stress with the process. I had never painted anything as grand as the Grand Canyon (very aptly named, btw!), & had never done a commission like that, so it came with frustrations. But I pushed through, & it turned out great! It's funny, because now, 10 years later, I can still look at a photo of that painting & think, "Damn, I did good work on that!" LOL I am proud of you for pushing through on your illustration/stamp set creation process, too. And I'm sure you did good work on it! :) I love how your coloring came out with your piece today. I'm not interested in alcohol markers, but the "Exciting News" was what made me watch. And I'm glad I did. :) Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on selling your first design! I can't wait to see your products come to life! I bought the OLO early and when I tried them, they bled pretty bad. I tried Neenah 80, 110, and Hammermill 100# coated smooth. I haven't used them since, but I have some xpressit and will try that. Thank you for the tip. In an illustration like yours, the bleeding can be camouflaged, doing a CAS with a simple critter...can't have the bleed. It's not that the marker is juicy...it's the formula. Could be the viscosity or their choice of carrier for colorant. Crossing my fingers the marker paper helps.

Exciting news about your stamp design! Congratulations! This design is beautiful! The cards I’ve seen done with olo’s have really vibrant colors. The texture of expressit paper feels a lot like yupo paper. Or as my granddaughter said, plastic. She wanted something stamped on paper not plastic. It’s a really nice paper to work on. Hammermil paper also has the same smooth surface. Makes blending and stamping way easier.

Congratulations! That is exciting news 😊 Xpress It is supposed to be the best paper for alcohol markers but it is very expensive. I have used it and it is super smooth and easy to color on and no bleeding etc. I am not the colorist that you are. I am not an artist at all but I do like to do some coloring just for fun. I wanted to mention that Gina K heavy weight 120# white is almost as good as the Xpress It for coloring and it is so much more affordable. It is not as bright of white as Xpress It if that is a consideration. You are a true artist. Try them both and see what you think. I think with either one you will notice a big difference over Neenah for alcohol markers. I did at least.

How exciting!! Can't wait to see the stamp set! Those markers look amazing but I am pretty much markered out, 😆 but may order a few of the colors I don't have with Copics. I originally purchased all of the Spectrum Noirs, then wanted a brush so purchased all of the Ohuhu markers, and finally most of the Copics!
