I had a Oloy kit bundled with my 3080, I already had a 4 x 8gb setup of higher end RAM so ended up sending it back. Seemed like decent plug n play ram tho as long as you could make the aesthetic work with your rig 🤷‍♂️

Question if anyone can help: I bought these 2x8gb. One stick works on all ram slots but the other stick only works on the far right slot. They don’t work together no matter the location. Is that one ram stick fried? It was working fine before but my psu failed.

I'm looking for 32gb ram (16x2) I was going to get the G.skill neo which was 32gb at 3600mhz but then I saw these (in white) at 32gb 3600mhz for about $20 less, additionally, I'm going for an all-white build, so in ur opinion, do I go g.skill or OLOy?

If it were me I’d shoot for the OLOy and save some money. I’m pretty enthusiastic about OLOy for now. On a tear down level they seem to be pretty well put together using more or less b-bin spectek/micron ICs, but great overall. G.Skill Trident Z Neo uses SK equivalents I believe (from some brief reading).

I have a pair of g.skill that overclocks to like 3800 and I purchased these so i could sell off the older build but i like the aura sync. I wonder how they receive power because I really want the aura sync on the gskill ram but the gskill is jus standard ddr4

Most modern RGB lit RAM has LEDs tied right to the PCB and communicates direct via the DIMM slot (power and lighting). Most softwares like Aura Sync identifies that there are lights and grants you control over it to change functions.

They should work with all major RGB brands - so if you have ASUS try controlling them in Aura Sync - or fusion for gigabyte - if you don’t have that support download the Trident Z RGB software and with any luck that should work (let me know if it does, I still have them chilling in an incomplete build)

Yes, it's detectable by third party software like motherboard RGB controllers via mobo software where supported.

So - It’s a good question because I’m not entirely sure. The ram should illuminate by default and Trident Z RGB software works with it - it’s the no RGB support motherboard I’m unclear on. If you try this let me know? I’m personally curious and have wondered this.

I just bought this ram but the rainbow rgb I want both the sticks to have the same color and speed but it is not even. Like 2:51 and asrock rgb software isnt working. Any way to fix it?

I haven't tried the Tridentz software yet to see if that would work but I'd say it's worth a shot (I still have them in a work in progress tower I haven't gotten back to). And if it were me I'd try a fresh install of ASRocks Polychrome to see if it detects them also. (But if you try the G.Skill software let me know because I too am curious, and if I remember I'll try that when I get home since that system can fire up now).

Yes! I didn’t forget to do something for once 😂. Fired it up this morning and tried it out. I was able to fully control them with the G.Skill software.

My oloy ram kit has a slight difference in rgb lighting, one doesn’t show the correct color and seems to always have a weird tint to it, the gskill software seemed to of helped as far as I can tell but there is still the slightest difference and it bothers me, do you think reseating the ram would help? I don’t want to monkey with it too much since I already had to troubleshoot two broken components on this build, the gpu and motherboard, I have a gigabyte b450 m aorus and a 2600x

I can buy 2 x 8GB 3200mhz CL16 Oloy Warhawk Black RGB for the same price as 2 x 8GB 3200mhz CL16 Patriot Viper Steel sticks. Which one will be more reliable? I like the looks of those 2 RAMs, but I am not sure which to choose.

Samsung to the best of my knowledge is who manufactures the ICs for the Viper series...simply put - they are revered as the best. If you aren’t too concerned with that though - go for what you want but if those modules feature the Samsung modules - they are likely the better deal for the money as far as brand reputation.
