From what I heard, they cut Gene saying "Damn it" and Gene sniffing Suzuka's sash and her reaction. The actual pulling the sash off her body wasn't cut. It could have been shortened significantly, but, for all I know, they left it in.

@@lowellprevost683 A lot of these didn't matter as much to the animators at the time. They had no idea that one day their anime would be viewed at really high-definition resolutions and instead didn't put a lot of effort into less important parts. This is why you still see dust and scratches on Blu-ray anime releases. When Outlaw Star was being made, DVD had only just become a thing. Most of the time people would buy anime like this on VHS or Betamax and it didn't look as bad. Nevertheless, the crappy animations were usually done by the outsourced slaves in poor countries instead of Sunrise's own team. ¬_¬

Edit: Should have included a *spoiler alert,* sorry. 9/10+ of the people here have already finished the show so it's easy to forget that. That's a good point. Keep in mind that she wasn't really doing it for the payment. She spent the time trying to build her skills, profile and connections that would eventually lead her to Hitoriga, the Anten Seven member who slaughtered everyone at the village she came from.
