"Its everything I love about leg day. Heavy weights. Sets that really test your mental toughness. And great friends and bodybuilders."
Hunter Labrada is 15 weeks out from the 2020 Mr. Olympia and crushing leg day to beat what he brought to Tampa to win his pro debut. Now he is winning the next 120 days until his olympia debut.
In this leg session he is joined by Ben Chow and Luke Carrol who are both brutally strong and love a legit painful leg day.
Hunter spells out in detail not only the exercises and execution but also the mental trip it is to take sets where they need to go to progress and WIN THE DAY. Admittedly top sets are like a drug and "free therapy" for Hunter.
Check out the full video here and leave what you want to see next in the comments.

"45lbs is 45lbs"! Exactly! You don't have to think about anything else at that moment but putting up the weight! Chase the burn! Great video, thanks!

Hunter, your bodybuilding IQ is genius level, and I agree with about muscle confusion, progressive overload has always put more muscle on me.

Oh - and GO HUNTER FOR TOP 3 OLYMPIA 2020! Been following you pretty religiously for a full year and this is my first comment, most of my clients and I are running a push-pull-legs split now, I love the way you represent our sport mate (I’m from Sydney, Aus) - before I didn’t have many true, modern day professionals to point to when my Mum would say to me “it’s not a real sport, all but the top 10 professionals are drug dealers, strippers or whores and everyone dies before 40” - now I can say to my future son or a gym-kid wanting to know a legitimate path to professional bodybuilding/PT/fitness as a career “research Hunter Labrada’s career - if you really want this and can chase your goals down in the relentless, measured and professional manner he does? You will succeed in the SPORT of bodybuilding and in the fitness industry at large” - this industry has been plenty kind to me and mine anyway and it is athletes like you the silent majority (to which I normally belong 😬) look up to and admire. Keep fucking hammering Hunter - bring that Olympia title home to the Labrada family trophy cabinet. Make your mark.

The part where he explains his squat routine makes me feel thankful for the years that I spent doing olympic style lifting and gaining ankle, wrist and elbow mobility. Something that I noticed that a lot of bodybuilders do is wear flat soled sneakers or regular cross trainers when they squat. Flat soles are fine if you want to train purely for strength like a powerlifter, but if your goal is hypertrophy and greater ankle mobility, wearing olympic squat shoes does just that. You don't need to wedge plates under your heels to elevate them because the shoes are already made with elevated heels, which will place emphasis on the quads during the high bar and front squat and target hamstrings during the low bar squat. They create stability and a flat surface that allows you to squat heavy while taking the load off your back. It's like night and day. I'll never squat with flat soled sneakers again. But hey, if this works for hunter and anybody else all power to y'all. (Sorry for writing an essay. Just an observation)

I watched The Shed do legs the other day and he warmed up with abductors and abductors. I tried it and haven't done them in a LONG time. My abductors were on fire for a week solid! I am so keeping up with these two exercises after hearing Hunter talk about how they add to the width appearance.
