I lived in Lacey in the late 70's while I was in the army. I remember going to a drive-in with my wife to watch Cheech and Chong's UP IN SMOKE and the first Alien movie. When the alien popped out of that guys stomach a bunch of cars started up and left. I had a 79 Ford Fiesta and put an under dash 8 track player in it. My wife and I drove around Olympia that summer of 79 listening to our one 8 track tape we had Supertramps Breakfast in America...Ahh good times.

I ve lived in Olympia my whole life and from what I gather its a great city to live in. I lived in Arizona in 2006-2007 and Northern California in 2008-2009 and have traveled a lot of places in the world and I come to the conclusion that Olympia is the most beautiful place in the country in July and August and its one of the best places to raise a family hands down in the US. It really is an awesome city even if young people ignorantly think its "SOOO LAME"

Cool, I live there. Downtown Olympia is pretty boring. But if you go to Westside Olympia, it's pretty fun. They have a huge mall, Black Lake, Yauger Park (With a skateboarding park),Go Karts, and a whole bunch more.

Olympia Washington can be such a welcoming beautiful place full of kind people. There are those however who make life seem so negative.if you are of color or obviously. A member of, the lgbt community the owner will mock,and say disgusting things about you. He says these things around employees, customers. All without regard for their sensibilities.just look at this company review I've found showing up online. this review is in regards to Olympia lighting center in Olympia WA. The selection, and customer service, are excellent. How ever on various. Occasions I've been in the store. I've witnessed the owner Joe verbally assault, his employees. I've over heard him use extremely hateful, bigoted, homophobic language. And a friend of mine once heard him talking about, missing the (good old days) after which he recited a story of beating up three, young black women for sport. Than he trailed, that story of hate with one about going downtown looking for queers to beat up. And I was told by an ex employee that if you say anything about his hateful ways. He will pull u aside. After which he explains that he can't be held liable, because he's, from a different time. And this is someone who claims to be a good citizen, and demands respect. Well I respect ants more than you Joe. I think its due time we removed trash like this from our society and if only this sad excuse for a man could pay for all the terrible things he has done.
