He certainly lacks strength in his final 40 to 50 yards. He falls behind. I have seen alot of white guys who do well but just not good enough in the 100 or 200. Actually in 100 and 200 you sprint twice in each race. You have an explosion on first 60 then there's another little burst of explosiveness to finish. Boling lacks that. It's a visual illusion based on the camera angle. Boling got the baton 3rd and was in 3rd place, and ran down one guy, and almost ran down Laird. Boling's split was faster than Laird's. Will Dalilah be able to make the training and tactics adjustments to even make it a battle with new WR holder Sydney? Break down their race and you'll see that Sydney ran 14 steps between hurdles for the first half of the race, alternating hurdle lead legs, and then held on to 15 steps between hurdles for the final few hurdles. Dalilah ran 15 steps between hurdles the whole race, but slipped to 16 steps between hurdles for the last 2, as Sydney ran her down. Will Dalilah's coaches be able to help her make the training and strategy adjustments, and do you see Dalilah as an athlete being able to make those adjustments? Love both of these amazing gals, and Sydney's adjustments, to run 14 stride and alternate lead legs in the first half, and performance in the trials final was INCREDIBLE!! I know it's a big ask to have you to come up to speed on and break down a hurdles battle, but I bet it would be a YT audience-expander for you. Surely you have some Oregon hurdler buddies you could bring in to help you with the breakdown?

Petros Kypriani, the UGA Track and Field Head Coach from Cyprus was terminated by the Athletic director yesterday in Eugene Oregon following the NCAA T&F Championships. Petros had previously announced he would not renew his $430,000 annual salary with UGA and expressed his frustration that they wouldn't build an indoor track and improve other facilities at UGA. His frustration had created a toxic atmosphere at UGA and world class athletes like Matthew Boling suffered a performance decline. Although his contract doesn't expire until August, the UGA Administration decided to fire him immediately at high noon on Monday. An hour later the UGA Administration announced the hiring of Caryl Smith Gilbert from USC effective immediately. She is a bona-fide American college sprint champion from California with 30yrs coaching success at Tennessee, Alabama and the University of Southern California. She's a very likeable lady who enjoys immense respect from her fellow head coaches in America. There will be a different atmosphere in Athens Ga this fall.

His top end speed is not there. You can improve your start and your spend endurance but to radically improve top end speed might take some reworking of his stride technique. I’d like to see him lean his torso more forward and engage his core more. He’s almost leaning back sometimes and his core is not maximally engaging in that posture.
@neerajnongmaithem3923 жыл бұрын
Well he can improve his start then, su bingatn worked his ass of to run the fastest 60m split finishing with a time of 9.83 in the 100m. If he can do it then I think anyone else can

Give it a rest. He was a H.S. phenom and this is his first full track season and so people are very interested and his performance. That is quite normal and has nothing to do with race and you inserting such an opinion without evidence only further aggravates these kinds of situations

As someone who ran track I noticed something about his sprinting that is very fixable. When he doubts he can't catch up, his gate becomes longer and he abandons technique. It's also a mental issue that effects your muscular and tendon response; the margin for error is so keenly precious he needs a coach who recognizes this. In layman's terms his confidence breaks down, so obvious watching his desperation to catch the field. This is also a maturity issue, as the poster clearly understands and wise too. A glitch in your mental synopsis effects not only your ability to stay on task but you literary lose muscle memory, adrenalin and endorphins. The guy that won this race simply said to himself, "I got his ass". Mathew ran a 9.98 in high school; mostly out of confidence.
@JRake323 жыл бұрын
Well said. And I don't think people who see the talent in Boling are declaring with the right coaching he'd be the fastest in the world but he has a top tier skill set and his mid-race burst makes him an interesting and potential upsetter in his races but as you said, his mentality appears to be sabotaging him.

Terence laird ran 200 meter 20:90 NCCA indoor championships and finished 12th when he was Bowling’s age 2 years ago ... would you have said about Laird then he has no future ? Usain Bolt was a sprint prodigy and in his first Olympic in Athens , he couldn’t even qualify in heats , not because he was a hype but because he was young and he was still growing as a runner ! I can understand saying about lashawn merit he is done but about a freshmen that he is having personal bests this season but just because he can’t beat the top senior athletes I really don’t get that reasoning! Mathew Bowling PR if these kind of results don’t get your attention as a freshmen then I don’t know what will 200 m: 20.06 (2021) 400 m : 45.51 (2021) Long jump: 26' 5.75" (2021, 8.07 m)
