Damn i'm a blue belt and have been learning a lot from her wrestling matches And to see her try bjj is just amazing Her wrestling plus some subs will just be lethal
@kommisar.3 күн бұрын
I am a bit disappointed they didn't show any training/sparring footage of her, but I'm glad to hear her finding a new passion in BJJ. Hopefully she's developing a good guard game, but every time Unity is mentioned, I think of their lack of AC and people taking showers in their gis and then walking back onto the mats. Disgusting.

Why would someone take a shower in their gi?

Shows you how much tougher wrestling is. Tried jiu-jitsu because she was injured and couldn't wrestle 😂

Wrestling, especially at high levels, self selects and weeds out lesser athletes. There are plenty of hobby BJJ participants who compete at large tournaments. It's pay to play.

what does the term 'field' wrestler mean?
@milehighcollector9632Күн бұрын
She actually said "feel" but she's got an accent. She doesn't usually shoot from outside, but instead enters ties and takes the openings available in the flow versus a "force" wrestler where they are super deliberate and try to take the positions they want. Guys like Kyle Snyder and Zain Rutherford and even Jordan Burroughs I consider force wrestlers, versus feel wrestlers like David Taylor, Jason Nolf, Bo Nickal etc...where they have a bag from a variety of positions and can take whats there versus having to physically impose their will and taking what they want.

Damn, imagine entering a white belt division as a girl and you have to compete against her.
@milehighcollector9632Күн бұрын
Now imagine being the coach and not knowing who Helen is. Just go take her down and stay on top! I can hear it already.
@Spiritof_7610 сағат бұрын
She'll need to start at blue belt because of her college-level and above experience. The same goes for anyone who did MMA as a pro. I'll edit by writing "Damn, imagine entering a blue belt division as a girl and you have to compete against her."

Wait…so she said “I’m injured what can I do?” Dr says “jiu jitsu”!? Haha that’s like the last thing you want to do injured.

BJJ is the easiest sport have you ever seen a jiu jitsu guy transfer to. Olympic wrestling or Judo? Also where do you guys come from? What you guys do is Kosen Judo/ luta livre and catch.
@Spiritof_769 сағат бұрын
It's a sport anyone can get into and do. Not so with Olympic sports, which is only for black belts and elite athletes. It isn't luta livre because there isn't striking. Go grapple a BJJ black belt world tournament medalist and tell us it was the easiest.
