@@matildecasula7329 thank you very much. I am not good at promotion or marketing ha ha ha so I chose something for KZbin that I really enjoy and I’m happy when other people get value out of it and enjoy it also. All my years as a gymnast and I’m still a fan of the sport, some great gymnastics being done now. If more people find what I do interesting, that makes me happy but at the root of it all, I just enjoy analyzing great gymnastics. Thanks again and all my best.

Great analysis. Though it was a bit distracting to hear Aly/Olly and Kylie (Kyla) Ross. There have been a few of your videos with mispronunciation (like Kaylia).. it makes an otherwise great video seem less researched.
@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp2 ай бұрын
Haha. Yes, I seem to evolve the names throughout my videos in their pronunciation. I am working on it and getting better but I get you. Glad you liked the analyses and my best.

I don't know judging but I thought she was going to get gold on floor in 2016. I remember during her career thinking, "Have I seen her make a big mistake?" always seemed ultra reliable and consistent.
@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp3 ай бұрын
She was exceptional Tumblr and very consistent as you said. Physically very strong and a good fighter. Simone Biles beat her in 2016 and Simone was doing a very difficult routine as well. It’s very competitive at the top ha ha ha. Thanks for your message.

That slightly crooked leap was a sissone (sp?), which is different from a regular split leap. I think so anyway
@reneepeters30453 ай бұрын
I’m being picky maybe but I think technically a leap starts and ends on one leg and it’s a “jump” when take off and landing two feet. Sissone is a jump. I love these videos though and correct me if I’m wrong ✌️🤸
@aaronsandman7493 ай бұрын
@@reneepeters3045 Both of you are correct. That slight angle jump (4:21) was a Sissone. And when you take off with both legs it's a jump vs one leg being a leap.

all your videos were just full of praise, while both of those double L turns should be downgraded, and show a lack of understanding about Aly, I believe she have mentioned she lost her technique to do twisting double saltos as she spent too much time on Arabians.

I focus on the quality and style of the athletes as values dont always represent the quality of their skills. Even in the smaller skills my hope is to point out things that help others understand and appropriate the styles and techniques the gymnast applies. Each generation usually has a few skills that are not very difficult buy have a high value. In this code it seems to be the wolf spin. Everyone does it and I do think it will be devalued after the Olympics. It is more common than people realize to train one skill very hard just to forget how to do similar skills. occasionally a gymnast may learn a double full and forget how to do a full. In the newer codes, most athletes just focus on their strengths. Aly was very good at this. Thank you for your insights and message and all my best.

Her toe point was atrocious but she was definitely a great gymnast on beam and floor! Vault was a hit and miss!
@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp3 ай бұрын
Haha. Yes, to point did seem to be her biggest challenge and did affect her overall look. I think she compensated for that a lot with her power and excitement but still it’s hard not to notice bad toes in my view as I’m a fan of nice point. Thanks for the message and all my best.

Aly is from Brestyan's gymnastic which is same club with Alicia Sacromone, 08 olympian. Both of them also coached by the same coach. Both Aly and Alicia are quite strong for 3 events which is Vault, Beam and Floor. Alicia and Aly's composition routine of beam is quite similar. Can try check it out if you got time. ❤

@@nazrulashraff6114 thank you for your insights and message. I think I will analyze Alicia Sacramone soon as a few people have mentioned her and when I watched a little upper gymnastics, I thought it was great. It helps me to know that Ali and her have the same coach. Makes it easier to understand their techniques and approach. Rock on and thanks again.

Great in depth videos but I wish you were more critical. I’d like to learn why some gymnasts have form breaks/inadequate amplitude etc.
@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp2 ай бұрын
There are many variables and strengths and weakness in all gymnasts. Also, each competition may vary from solid performances to shaky performances. Thank you as I think it is a good idea to try to explain why they have a break and I will do that more in the future as I think it helps people understand. Sometimes the break is for balance and others it is to help complete the skill. Thanks for the suggestion. Rock on.
