Best ice dancing team ever in my opinion! I think its quite sad people don't care about ice dancing and the only thing they know about Meryl and Charlie is that they are Olympic sochi champions (others even only know them because "Dancing with the stars" agrr). Let me tell you: before Sochi they had won every single competition for 2 years, undefeated for 2 whole seasons, 2 times worlds champions, 6 times Nationals champions, and many more littles since they had won every single grand prix competition, 5 times Grand Prix Final champions and Vancouver 2010 Olympics silver medalists... i wish they didn't have retired just yet... they could be 2 time Olympic champions now. They are not only the most decorated american ice dancers but one of the most decorated ice dancers in history.

While I would have loved for them to have continued on to compete at a third Olympics, they have moved on. Charlie is married and has a son. Meryl is engaged.

And now she is married -- has been since June 2019 or thereabouts. It's kind of astounding to have an Olympic silver medal and a gold in ice dancing, so, as almost all competitive figure skaters do, after Sochi it was time to start getting paid (and well) to skate. Skating in ice shows is a LOT safer, also -- stating the obvious. We're lucky to live with 21st-C tech, and have KZbin and other sources provide us with videos of their competitions.

They have FaceTime with students, so they can teach them about sportsmanship, perseverance, leadership, fairness, and community. They give back to the community and refrain from “badmouthing” whether they win or lose a competition.

Also watch her Ted Talk and you will find out something very interesting about her childhood years in school..Meryl has overcome a lot of hurdles in her life. She really is sweet and understanding.

Look at the statistics.of every competition that Davis & White entered between the 2010 Olympics and the 2014 Olympics. They won gold every time, except 3 times they placed second. Davis & White proved themselves worthy of Sochi gold, over and over again.

Requires skill and prowess. Requires vigorous bodily exertion. Involves individuals and/or teams competing against each other. So figure skating meets the criteria of the definitions from all these dictionaries and therefore: Figure skating is a sport!
