Talk about how we got rolled in the mixed 4x400m but set a record in the prelims 🤦🏾♂️. Also how there is no way we would’ve gotten rolled with Quincy Wilson on the mixed 4x400m team.
@sportsaddict-k8s2 ай бұрын
Femke Bol's 47.93 split ruined it for Team USA. The world record in the heats was impressive. The anchor leg is the most important; as long as a team is near or at the front on the anchor leg, it doesn't matter what the other athletes do. Quincy Wilson would run first or third based on the rules, anyway, so he wouldn't have the power to win or lose a race that the anchor leg runner would.

You say Jakob only wins when he has pacers in one off races & yet Josh Kerr is 3 years older & has won 2 championship medals outdoors vs Jakob’s 11, 9 of which are gold. Kerr’s never improved his 1500m time since Tokyo but you reckon Kerr is the better championship racer & favourite because he won one race last year? 🤷🏻♀️ seriously?!

As I'm from the UK, I want Josh Kerr to win. But this could be one of those things where Jakob Ingebrigtsen wins the Olympic title again, but fails to win the World Championship the following year, perhaps being denied gold by yet another Brit. Josh will not let Jakob repeat at Olympic champion.

Hobbs Kessler is a good competition runner, he was third at the World Indoors. Kerr has to be favourite after the SFs. Cheryuiot didn't look great but I still think he is a possible upset win because he's a proven championship performer.. Brian Komen.has also been in good form. Nordas and Laros both look good for a place and will finish top 6. Nuguse has the times but he lacks the fire to win..

Assuming everything goes as it should, we know the medallists be Warholm, Benjamin and dos Santos, but we don't know the order. Dos Santos beat Warholm this year in Oslo, and Benjamin beat both of them this year in the same race in Monaco. The Monaco Diamond League was the last time the three raced each other, making Benjamin the favourite to win the Olympic gold. Benjamin holds the world lead at 46.46, followed by dos Santos at 46.63, and then Warholm at 46.70. Benjamin entering Paris 2024 is another reason he will win the Olympic gold. Benjamin is the only one of the three who does not yet have a global gold medal in the men's 400m hurdles. His desire to join the other two will give him a psychological boost to win the Olympic gold. I will take Rai Benjamin to win the Olympic gold in 46.50 or faster.

I dont like Ingebrigtsen or his fanboys but its undeniable that he is on another level this season and no one is even close. This will be an easy win for him. The previous losses were just bad days for him. He has much stronger competition in the 5k. You wouldn't know that if you just looked at his championship results. Youd think the opposite.

@@jensmith3719 Hocker is another one that has been extremely overrated past 4 years but he did run his '21 season to perfection and his '24 season looks promising. He's one i can trust to peak at just the right time in the Finals it's just a matter of how many ppl are better than him on the day. He could totally set a pb in 3:29 but idk if thats good enough to medal. To get a bronze he will have to beat the 2 Kenyans and Nordas. Nuguse, I dont trust him to peak in the finals. I trust Hocker way more than Nuguse even though Nuguse has better peak performances.
@milocavapoo18522 ай бұрын
I agree, he admitted his tactical error against Wightman & was clearly unwell at Worlds last year as his form in the final went against every other race leading up to it. I predict he’ll try getting close to WR pace & bring along Cheruiyot & Neguse who looked better in his semi upfront. As a Brit I’m hoping Kerr doesn’t even medal, he’s been unbearable since winning one race over Jakob last year.

@@milocavapoo1852 i think Kerr has 2nd on lock even if you hate him. Timmy was kinda looking like he struggled in that last prelim didnt he? I dont think he beats Kerr tbh. @@RiqMoran if the race is fast like in Monaco which I predict it will be then Kerr may come in behind Cheruiyot & Nuguse. Kerr’s ability to race under 3:29 is unknown as he’s not raced faster than Tokyo. 6 runners in the final have a faster time than Kerr this season. He ran 3:26 about 3 weeks ago. Athletes can hold their peaks for 6 to 8 weeks. If he had run this time 6 to 8 weeks ago, i would be concerned he had peaked. But about a month of separation from a crazy fast time trial and a championship is actually ideal. You want an example of someone who peaked early look at Kejelcha. 2 months ago he ran 3 secs off the 5k record. Then he got rolled a couple days ago. Why? Cause he peaked 2 months ago. Gebrhiwet, same thing, i dont have too much confidence in him even tho ppl pick him as the favorite because he almost broke the WR 2 months ago.
@milocavapoo18522 ай бұрын
Peaked? He’s 23, he didn’t race indoors due to injury & uses competitions to get race fit. He literally was close to the WR a few weeks ago is is 1.5 seconds faster than any of his rivals this season. Jeez the hate for the lad because he’s honest is bizarre.

@@TheErinBrownTV Gabby posted the fastest time of Round 1 (22.20), but the other medal contenders -- Julien, Dina, Brittany and Neita -- had strong opening races as well, particularly Julien considering she ran a smooth 22.41 after having won the women's 100m in 10.72 and having to run the 200m less than 15 hours later. McKenzie Long was in lane 9 for her heat, but she seemed to run too hard for my liking for only a 22.55 effort. But Julien could very much do this sprinting double, and cause an upset for Gabby. I think the winner of the women's 200m will finish in a mid 21.7 time or faster.
