@@NickSymmondsToo i do think you are the best youtuber on sports.. period. (specially in the track). Dont take what i said bad, but i dont like you talking drugs concerns and use a personal name of an athlete in the same sentence. I really understand your doubts about drug use during covid and if you do a video on drugs and elite sport i would watch it but it isnt gently to talk about a guy that just broke a world record and wonder if he have been check for drugs. I know you think he is clean, but you raise concerns and now the idiot next door is saying he did it because of dope. Thank you for your great work i would love to see some videos on pentathlon and ultra marathon. cheers

Gambling can incite athletes to cheat, that is why it is banned throughout most sports. Even if gambling takes place in the middle of a race while the athletes are performing, the athletes could finish in certain places purposefully in order to win someone else some money, and then of course the athletes can be tipped off by the gamblers for helping them win their bets. Gambling could ruin the sport.

Horse racing wouldn’t exist without gambling because it’s a shit sport. Athletics absolutely does not need gambling at the track. Looks like Nike ZoomX Dragonfly - Also even though there were very little fans and the energy of Monaco wasn't there, it makes this record just that much more incredible/difficult to take on. Chep did this with no fans, alone after 6 laps, during the worst pandemic in a century and his travel time to Monaco from Uganda took 80hours which is exhausting for anyone... --> the only thing i would've wanted a little more of was to see this race run with more world-leading 5k runners. I feel that this record could've been even more incredible if there was more competition. However, I think the other world-leading 5k runners knew they weren't ready to stick with Chep because he announced a 5k record attempt prior to racing and I'm sure the competition was like we arnt ready.. I think the closts anyones gotten was Barega's 12:43 and Kejelcha's 12:47 in 2018.. Thanks for your thoughts Nick

@@kaismithley6173 That whole thing was staged for Cheptegei. They made sure to break the records with technological help. Those wavelights are like robot pacers and the kangaroo shoes are massive help as well. It may not look like much but its all about tiny margins at this level. The men and women's 10000m and 5000m stood for so long I guess haha. No one could reach them so they had to do this robbery The Ugandans splits were metronomic. Very much on point. That is because a robot was pacing him on the side of the track. You can clearly see the light illuminating the inside of the track so of course he can see them. Massive cheating.

Hi Nick, have you been aware that there were lights on the curb to mark the perfect pace? OK, I see you were. Like your exitement about this performance and athletics at all!

I know right. God knows what crazy times Kenenisa would have ran if he had the same level of support Kipchoge and Cheptegei are having now

I've never heard anyone refer to the rabbits as "pace setters". That sounds like I'm joking, but I'm honestly not - I've almost always just heard them called "rabbits", and occasionally "pacers". ("rabbit" being an old greyhound racing term, for anyone who's not familiar with it)
