Gambling can incite athletes to cheat, that is why it is banned throughout most sports. Even if gambling takes place in the middle of a race while the athletes are performing, the athletes could finish in certain places purposefully in order to win someone else some money, and then of course the athletes can be tipped off by the gamblers for helping them win their bets. Gambling could ruin the sport.

Horse racing wouldn’t exist without gambling because it’s a shit sport. Athletics absolutely does not need gambling at the track. Looks like Nike ZoomX Dragonfly - Also even though there were very little fans and the energy of Monaco wasn't there, it makes this record just that much more incredible/difficult to take on. Chep did this with no fans, alone after 6 laps, during the worst pandemic in a century and his travel time to Monaco from Uganda took 80hours which is exhausting for anyone... --> the only thing i would've wanted a little more of was to see this race run with more world-leading 5k runners. I feel that this record could've been even more incredible if there was more competition. However, I think the other world-leading 5k runners knew they weren't ready to stick with Chep because he announced a 5k record attempt prior to racing and I'm sure the competition was like we arnt ready.. I think the closts anyones gotten was Barega's 12:43 and Kejelcha's 12:47 in 2018.. Thanks for your thoughts Nick

The men and women's 10000m and 5000m stood for so long I guess haha. No one could reach them so they had to do this robbery The Ugandans splits were metronomic. Very much on point.
