for all the TaeKwonDo haters...this type of TKD is OLYMPIC STYLE, the traditional style is completely different, it teaches u way more than u can imagine. how do i know? cause i take traditional style TKd. its difficult, u dont just kick, u punch, throw, takedown, everything. so please, know ur facts about TKD before u speak.

Taekwondo is mainly about kicking, all types of kicks. It is a great martial art. Everyone can punch, but not everyone can kick properly, I'm not talking about kicking a football here. Very good martial art.
@MightyAxl2314 жыл бұрын
for those who never been in taekwondo this guys are kicking freaking hard depends where they kick you EX: arm they can break it with a single blow

lol. notice the most important word in your post "probably"... i work on my footwork more than anything else, except maybe flexibility. i train 5 days a week, sometimes 6 if im not too sore. if youre looking for someone who is "too slow" then you are talking to the wrong person. and when i start competing soon, i will post the videos of all the tournaments so you can see for yourself=) the ladder to the olympics is a long process, but i know im fast enough and good enough.

@cchamp999 hi there.. in tkd u generally don't do knee ups to block... that's not allowed in contact sparring. i did tkd for seven years and one thing i can tell u is that what matters in tkd is utmost speed and precision... the power automatically comes from the rigorous training. Also in tkd u generally do not block.. cos, for every attack u generally have a counter-attack.. so u r actually supposed to attack and counter-attack in contact sparring (theoretically speaking)... amazing vid btw..

Olympic TKD uses mostly kicks, traditional taekwondo is based off of multiple martial arts from Korea (Kwonpup, tayek yon, kwondao (plus about ten others)) plus influences from Karate, Judo, and Kung fu, the Koreans unified all arts under TKD, WTF style (Olympic) is sport oriented where traditional ITF is combat (it uses more punches)

This style of tkd reminds of fight pilots in a dog fight. Meaning that who ever can hold the circle the longest will win the dog fight and get the kill. Meaning that the rapid kicks are used to set up a much stronger and powerfully attack for the ko or the win
@TheGetyourassup12 жыл бұрын
thank you for correcting me see , i practice also martial arts but not tkd and all i see are those 360 ° kicks etc and that's show though lot's of respect for tkd self defense because it's DEFENSE and not show :)

For the Teakwondo haters this is important notice: Even though the fighters are wearing helmets the power of the kicks have enough force to not just knock out an enemy with a helmet, but it can also permenately damage the enemy, the worst case is death. So that means the safety gear is not for fashion but for the worst case of scenerio. Thank you for understanding . =D

it depends on what kind of block's, if you just rise your arm to block straight on you have a good chance of breaking it but if you where to deflect the kicks you wouldnt break it becuse the kick cant transfer the power as well as other wise but i see your point since they are far harder to use and if you get it wrong you will break your fingers, especialy against round houses and since roundhouses are one of the moost used kicks there is realy no point tryingcus it willDistractYouAndDoYouNoGood

they should use more skills because of the protective gear, the don't fear a kick to the chest and just go on kicking each other until someone losses his balance. check out some itf fights, they are more entertaining.
