All throughout haikyuu hinata always had to ask people to set for him ( kageyama, suga, kenma), but this is the first time that someone asked hinata to let them set for him. It just shows how much he improved and that setter being the best high school setter says enough of hinata‘s capabilities. What a ride it has been. Thanks Sarah for the reactions.

In the post game interview, the coach of Inarizaki says they needed to be more "aggressive", which doesn't make any sense. However, that's actually because it's a horrible mistranslation. He was saying "tegataku" which means "being careful and firm, being down to earth and not risky".

The quote, in the beginning where the twins lose. "This position.. this timing... this angle.. It's perfect." and how they lose the shot, is a callback to season 1 e24 when Karasuno loses. In my perspective, Washijou acknowledge his ideological defeat back when Hinata scored that last spike against Shiratorizawa. The mean comment about "not sensing any worth without Kageyama" was needlessly brutal, but it was also... A truth Hinata NEEDED to hear. Even back at Shiratorizawa, when Kageyama couldn't play, Hinata usually got benched. Based on the fact that it looked like he WAS a ballboy, Washijou himself probably went through something similar and just made Hinata be in a position where he knew it was possible to learn on his own. I think it's too much credit to say Washijou taught Hinata that lesson, but he still went out of his way to let him on the court. Probably out of pride, he didn't actually sit down with Hinata and taught him shit, yet he did 2 very valuable things: 1. He allowed him to stay and didn't let him play, forcing him to either learn or quit, which makes this more Hinata's own merit rather than Washijou, and 2. That one line "No worth in you without Kagayama" is basically his way of saying "You need to learn how to bring more to the court other than that one quick set". It's not a full answer, but it's a hint. One of the pieces of the puzzle he had to put together in order to change his mindset as a player, forever changing Hinata's fate as a player.

Hinata already knew he's not the best without Kageyama. Its something that even he mentioned before , its part of the reason why he snuck in to that camp. He just wants to get better

Setting Hinata is not solely Kageyama's job. Just like what the National coach team said, it is a good thing that Hinata found out that Kageyama's not the only one capable of setting the ball to him. They're rivals. So they will have to battle it out in the future to find out who's stronger between them. As for Washijo's feelings, it would be best if you don't ask so you won't get spoiled. LOL

The thing about Atsumu's compliment is that it's the result of what Hinata is trying to accomplish through out the season. And that's to be a good player, WITHOUT Kageyama. Prior to this season, he barely had his basics down and can only score because of the freak quick Kageyama effortlessly sets up for him. Having another setter tell him that he wants to set for him makes it clear that Hinata is slowly reaching his goal of being a solid player in his own right, like what he saw in Hoshiumi (seagull guy).

Sarah, thank you for reacting to Haikyuu. I've seen many reactors, and you are the best of them. Your combination of volleyball knowledge, passion for the fiction, and intelligence is remarkable. Learning every character's name after a single introduction, even making reaction videos during and after the Olympics---you're a natural at this. This episode takes the Haikyuu anime through 292 chapters of the Haikyuu manga---but the Haikyuu manga is 402 chapters long! The remaining animation will likely not do justice to all of it. Sarah, I've seen so much emotional connection from you to the characters, and there's no reason for you to hold back from reading Haikyuu. Whether you react publicly to the manga or not, if Haikyuu has connected to you, then I sincerely hope you read it! It's very approachable, readable, emotional, completes the story admirably. Thank you again for this remarkable reaction series.

Washijo is actually watching Hinata’s growth ever since that match-deciding back row from Hinata against Shiratorizawa and he knows that Hinata will be able to do what Washijo cannot during his younger years. He knows that Hinata has the “hunger” to forge his way throught the “tall and strong” stigma on volleyball. Washijo is actually a Hinata believer deep inside.

I think the thing that strikes me the most about Kita's "Well, Isn't my team amazing?" moment is that, to me, it's not just "I wanted to play more." Rather, I always felt like it was "I wanted ~you~ to have more chances to play." I'm not sure if I'm articulating this right, but it feels like Kita is content to just be with his team, whether on the court or the bench. Being captain and getting to help guide his team is enough for him. Of course, getting to play would be nice too, but it feels to me like he just wants to cheer on his teammates. Again, not sure I'm articulating this correctly, but it makes sense in my head lol! I'll probably come back to this later and be like "that made no sense" hahaha! Hopefully someone can get what I mean!

I can't believe it's all finished (though hopefully, there would be those All-Stars Team vids to look forward to) & that I've been enjoying these Haikyuu reactions for *2 yrs*! Thanks for all the effort put into these! I enjoyed them immensely! Kita's last speech made me tear up again, too.🥲 & the fact that this would most likely be my last comment I leave for these reactions is giving me sentiments as well. Here I go with my usual personal opinions about the subs for the 1 last time: 24:04 「あいつ、サインとか考えるタイプじゃないだろう?」「ただの署名~」→ "You know he probably hasn't figured out his own autograph yet" "He'll just write his name". This is just fine, but if I'm to be picky, the more literal translation would be more like "(Come on), you know he's not the type (of person) who thinks about autographs, (right)?". "(It'll) just (be) a (regular) signature~". 31:14 「もう『昔の因縁の相手』じゃなくなってるんだよぉ」→ "They're not the team you've held a grudge against for so many years anymore". I personally find this translation & their choice of pronouns to be a bit "off". This line is tied in with the line right before, & thus should be more like "They(Nekoma)'re not just the 'fated opponents of old" to *them* (the Karasuno boys) anymore". Coach Ukai is saying that the boys aren't looking forward to the match-up or gonna give it their all just because of the existence of the old rivalry or just to please old coach Ukai, but because the rivalry has now become real & personal for themselves. I feel that their translation is missing something to fully convey that tone (& it sounds more like he's rather talking about the type of team Nekoma has become these days). Perhaps add "just" inbetween "not" & "the", &/or add "to them" at the very end?

Congratulations on finishing four seasons of Haikyuu, Sarah! It's been a blast being a part of your Haikyuu journey. To the rest of you guys, you all better follow Sarah's other channel if you haven't already! Anyway, I'm not sure what you're planning to do with your schedule now that Haikyuu has ended. You were technically reacting to two anime episodes a week, one here and one on your other channel. I would suggest picking up a new anime to react to along with Spy x Family, if you wish to continue the two episode a week schedule. Also, I would highly suggest picking some shorter anime, there are many amazing anime that is only 1 cour, or 1 season with 12 episodes. I think the more anime series you cover, the bigger variety of fans you can attract to your channel. For example, I'm sure a bunch of people have recommended Kuroko's Basketball to you, but that's a 75 episode anime. And that's 75 episodes of you only attracting Kuroko's Basketball fans to your channel. In that same time frame, you could cover 6 different 1 cour anime and attract a larger variety of fans. Anyway, that's just my suggestion.

It's been great to see your reactions Sarah! I remember watching since the first season, and then watching you live at the Olympics months later! In terms of what to do next when it comes to Haikyuu, you can either wait for the next seasons of anime to come out, but as someone who's read the manga, there's probably another 3-4 seasons left (depending on how they pace the content), so possibly another 5+ years before the end. So, alternatively, reading the manga is probably preferable unless you're willing to wait that long to see how good Hinata becomes!

I came across your videos yesterday, and one video got me watching all seasons of Haikyu again because of your awesome commentary! I got to learn more about volleyball isms and what not because of you, so thank you! Also, I just wanted to sort of touch on Washijo as a character and how awesome he is and what he eventually becomes in the manga: After Karasuno beat Shiratorizawa, Washijo came to a realization that he just didn’t maximize his potential enough even at his height or as he would like to put it “lack of strength”. And seeing Hinata do the things he did at that time, humbled him. To him, it wasn’t Shiratorizawa losing to Karasuno, it was more about him and what he thought the idea and the make up of a winner looks like losing to Hinata. He’s always been hardened by his shortcomings but that loss, that last smile/smirk he had in the end of that match was him letting that pride go and admitting defeat. Fast forward to Hinata’s training arc camp - Washijo, although tough on Hinata, has already grown to respect him. That’s why he let him stay. All the little curve balls he threw at Hinata was him more so saying “well, I know what you can do, you can be better, but you can’t be that unless you can fight on your own” I love that he brought Hinata back down to Earth in that first episode by being BRUTALLY honest with him because Hinata wouldn’t have even realized that OTHER PEOPLE KNEW he can’t do much without Kags. I love that Washijo became this anchor that Hinata needed. Not exactly to weigh him down but to keep him steady.

Thank you so much for reacting to Haikyuu! I have learned tons of knowledge about volleyball from your videos. And your emotions are touching and beautiful!! I feel moved again at the same time even though I have watched this before. That may be the charming point of reaction videos. Looking forward to watch more your videos!❤

Haikyuu! has been my favorite anime for years. The artist has a genuine passion for volleyball and wanted the world to embrace the sport. Out of all the reaction videos I've watched, Sarah's has got to be my favorite. Your love for the sport comes out when you connect each of the players in Haikyuu! It really is a shame that the remaining seasons gets condensed into 2 movies and to be released sometime in the future. If I may, I really encourage you to read the remaining chapters because you will find something truly special at the end of Haikyuu that you may not get simply by watching the anime. I promise you will still get full body chills, goosebumps and even moments when you'll cry because that is how much you may fall in love with Haikyuu!

So true, especially since she mentioned Washijo and asked us to tell her how he feels about Hinata. But I shan't spoil; I am stronger than this.

No, it isn’t. It isn’t hard at all, because I care about her experience of the story and have more self-control than a 3 year-old
@LixienXIII Жыл бұрын
@@SnailHatan I can see how you can misinterpret my comment. But what I mean by "hard" is that is frustrating for me not being able to say anything because well, yeah, I care about her experiencing the story herself and don't have the self control of 3 year old. Doesnt change the fact that it's still frustrating lol.

Sarah if you're reading this, i advise you read the manga before watching the movies that will come out soon for Haikyuu. The anime studio of Haikyuu is on a big rush right now and will likely cut a huge chunk of the manga's storylines in the process and you seriously wouldn't want to miss that. Whether you'd react to it for a video or do it on your own free time, either way is totally fine. I just want you to experience Haikyuu at it's full glory~

Hey Sarah, if you're interested in doing manga reviews/reactions to various matches/subarcs remaining in Haikyuu!!, I'm guessing that you're probably a bit unsure on what format would work since manga reviews are quite different from anime episode reviews. There's a youtuber who does One Piece (a very popular manga) reviews called "Merphy Napier" that I think has a format that would work really well for your style of reacting and love for small character moments and interactions. She was originally exclusively a booktuber (doing non-manga book reviews), but at some point, she opened it up to One Piece, and she managed to strike a nice balance with talking about her thoughts on important story points while also gushing about really fun character interactions, growth of said characters, themes/callbacks, hype moments, etc. A lot of this is taking notes as you read of your thoughts and recording yourself talking about the chapters that you read using your notes as a sort of outline. It's kind of like what you do when you pause the episode to talk about stuff, but instead of that being small interludes, it takes up much more of the content. You can also experiment with splicing in various panels of the moments you are talking about (though just like with the anime, you need to be careful with how much you includes due to obvious copyright reasons). As a note about Haikyuu!! Final (movies), if you care at all about spoilers, then I would not recommend reacting to the trailer that has come out for the two Haikyuu!! Final movies. They are super hype and nostalgic, but man, do they spoil so much (like, everything, including the outcome of some important matches and story direction). I cannot recommend the manga enough since two movies really isn't enough to do the rest of the series justice, and I can guarantee you, they will have to cut out a LOT of stuff to fit it into two movies. To give some reference, season 4 ends off at around chapter 292. That's 4 seasons with 87 (25 + 25 + 10 + 2 + 25) episodes for 292 chapters. I don't want to spoil the exact number of chapters that Haikyuu!! has, but let's just say there are over 100 chapters left, and they're trying to fit that into two movies. There will be a lot that has to go if that happens; just look at the 4 recap movies for seasons 1 - 3, which cover ~190 chapters. As another comparison point, the Land v. Air two episode OVA series is actually ~18 chapters in the manga, which is why so many people don't like those OVAs due to cut content. Anyway, I loved your Haikyuu!! content, and I'll probably keep following you over on your anime channel. I loved your Run with the Wind series, so keep at it, and most importantly, watch/read what you think is fun, as that will make the best content!

Ahh I can't believe this is finished! D: I can't wait to see what other Haikyuu things you may react to in the future! As a suggestion, if you're up for it you could read the manga or maybe watch the Haikyuu stage play? Thank you again, Sarah!

Kageyama and Hinata despite being teammates, and maybe even friends are destined to be rivals. And remember Hinata said in the first episode that he was going to beat Kageyama. That’s going to be difficult when they’re on the same team.
@Virgil_Hawkins Жыл бұрын
They’re still rivals even while they’re on the same team and they have challenges all the time. They can keep playing on the same team while remaining rivals
