I think the new running spikes took off a second per lap in the hurdles, it would also explain how the world records fell just before the Olympics too and how 3rd place in both races broke the previous longstanding world records

We were lucky to even see the whole race on NBC without a commercial.. this was my first experience watching the Olympics in the US and I was so annoyed by the coverage and surprised by the number of commercials during the coverage of an event. Usually other networks only show commercials after the whole track events

Amazingly, after making history by becoming the first woman to run under 52 seconds in the 400m hurdles, Sydney made history again by breaking a world record in her own name. Dalilah also made history by becoming the second woman to run in under 52 seconds. Meanwhile, Femke Bol who finished in third place also performed superbly, having barely run under 52 seconds (only 0.04 seconds slower).

The presenter for the medals is Nawal El Moutawakel. She won the 400 meter hurdles in 1984. I was there and saw her win.

Don't want to criticize the commentators but the commentary wasn't great. It just didn't have the epicness of the commentary like in 2016 Rio when Van Niekerk broke the world record.

Sydney mcclaughlin has been great this year, but Dalilah Muhammad never got 1/10th of this coverage that sydney gets when she was the first American woman to win the 400mH at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She set the world record twice in 2019, is the only woman other than sydney to run under 52 seconds, the second female 400m hurdler to medal twice at the olympics, she has the 2nd, 5th and 6th fastest times run and she's in her prime at 31.
