I like to think that the real reason why the commentator's voice is so soft is because he's afraid of spooking the horses.🐎

i really gotta hand it to marcus ehning. his hands are so soft. so many male riders have such heavy hands - there’s such a visible difference between his hands and the other male riders. i hate seeing them leaning so hard on the reins and being so dramatic with their hands.

completely agree, he’s a very nice rider
@shore348450
@shore348450 2 жыл бұрын
His hands are soft because He’s such a brilliant trainer that the horse is loose in the back, engaged in the hind leg and as a result the contact upfront is beautiful and light hence the soft hands. He is just a joy to watch, but you know that the three minutes we see him in the arena is the result of decades of learning and training and perfecting his trade. Truly one of the modern greats.

Same here, it was such a special day. The atmosphere was absolutely electric. I will always remember the whole crowd on the edge of their seats and that final fence eruption of noise when they finished!! All the ssshushing and when the British Rider asked for quiet because his horse was a little reactive that day, it was instant dead silence. P.s I was sat next to Anky Van Grunsden in the rider section. We couldn’t believe our luck when me and my Mum rocked up to be seated lol x

Long shanked hackamores are actually pretty strong and can be harsh when used with constant contact.
@tildehaglund5183
@tildehaglund5183 4 жыл бұрын
Prune & Co You are completely right. But I think the same goes for bits. They can also be very harsh with constant contact, especially if the riders have hard hands. (Which, to me it looks like a lot of them have.) I personally prefer riding with a hackamore over a bit, since I don’t have to put any metal *inside* my horse’s mouth. (Although, nowadays I mostly ride with a neck rope or halter.) To me, this horse looks quite comfortable and content. I think that many of the riders who compete on higher levels, like this one, seem to have very hard hands. Too often, I see horses with their mouths wide open because their riders pull so hard on the reins. I wrote that comment since I found it refreshing to se someone on this high of a level riding without a bit, because it’s kind of uncommon. But of course bitless bridles can be just as bad as bits can.

Leah Ozgun does the times matter cause the leaderboard didn’t base the places on times but instead their faults
@sbgimmie
@sbgimmie 3 жыл бұрын
its the fastest time with the least amount of faults, it really only matters that they ride the course in the ‘time allowed’ , if they dont they get 1 fault for every second they go over that time. If multiple people have 1 fault then the one with the fastest time will be placed 1st in the group of people with 1 fault: a person with 4 faults could ride the course faster than 1st place but they are placed down the leaderboard into the group of riders with 4 faults.

I hope you realize that these are thousand pound animals with a mind of there own. They truly love what they do. If they didn’t, they let us know. They either run from you in the paddock, or they will just refuse to just and throw you off. Also these riders take great care of their horses, they love them with all they’re heart and they wouldn’t do anything to hurt them.If you don’t agree that’s fine but it is just something to consider.
