And the fact that the father said something to keep him going to the finish line when they came up to help him off the track was honestly the Best part bc he would know an athletes pride in Olympics wouldn’t let him walk off without finishing at all so he helped get him to the line. Like that just shows he was proud of him to begin with and didn’t care if he won gold or was on last place. It was the fact that he did it to begin with.

She failed to medal at the 2010, 2011, and 2015 world championships in the all around, and she lost a bronze medal in London 2012 due to a tie breaker. There was a winter Olympic in the 1970s, where an Indian or Pakistani cross country skier participated. A camera followed him, capturing his challenges. A Swede won the race and the gold. The ceremony was held, flowers and medals were awarded. And the skier labored on. He was met at the finish line by the gold medal winner, who congratulated him and gave him the bouquet of flowers. One of the most profound moments. They did show a snippet of it in the opening ups of the Wide World of Sports. I can't find it anywhere.

Well, there are many great moments in sports. Two, to me obvious, moments on lists like these would be 1) Bob Beamon winning in Mexico with a jump that beat the old world record by 55 cm, or an increase by 6,5 % in one go. 2) The Soviet last second win in basketball vs the US in 1972, the first ever title lost by the US. And of course, there are plenty of great moment in the winter games too, e.g. the US win in ice hockey in 1980!
