Or did I miss something? Are the trials in May? If so, she only has 7 months to get 3 other routines down. Would love to see her have at least a 5.8 or higher vault, at least a 6.2 UB and a 6.1 on FX. Personally, I would be very happy if she did well at the trials and in joyous disbelief if she actually makes the team.

The way the gymnasts smile right before they're introduced, then go right back into their game face, is always funny and chilling at the same time. Who decided that they needed to smile? They're concentrating on doing the physically hardest things anyone can imagine - they don't need to concentrate on looking pretty.
@ItsNotASara3 жыл бұрын
This reminds me of that one video of Simone Biles on dancing with the stars, where the judge tells her obnoxiously that she should smile more and she shuts him off with "smiling doesn't win you gold medals"

the paseka jump made my eyes bleed, the funny thing is that she really thought she made a good jump.

Ok, seriously, can we EVER see the judges looking even mildly happy?! (This goes for ANY & EVERY sport!) Yes. We get that you have a pretty "serious job" to do... Particularly at the OLYMPICS!! but, come on- do they ALL ALWAYS have to look like they just hate their lives & need a nap & a cookie?! This is EXCITING!!! Why do they always have to look like they're picking out the finish for their parents coffins?! Do they need a raise maybe....?! SOMETHING?! A ghost of a smile even, puuHLEAASE, judges?!

Absolutely wheezing at 48:05, Simone trying to get Maria's attention while poking her in the back, that looks so funny.

I can’t wait to see Simone nail the Yurchenko double pike in Tokyo. And really rooting for Oksana to medal this year, she’s dedicated so much of her life to this sport and recently confirmed it will be her last Olympics.

Poor Hong! Her legs and ankles are taped up all the time and periodically her wrists also. It's the same for Gwang in the men's competition. North Korea has so few artistic gymnasts that compete at this level that they never allow them to rest and recover from injuries. When they are finally allowed to retire (I'm pretty sure it isn't up to them as individuals) their joints and bones and ligaments will be just ruined. They'll be in pain the rest of their lives. North Korean athletes are under so much pressure that it must be unbearable
