From what ive been noticing is judges are scoring higher on the timed runs for doing ramp tricks in between bangers. Like ginwoos full cab flips, kairis heel variations yuto with the nasty blunt reverts Braden always has huge blunt variations on the big ramps. They dont hop off their boards and they fill each line across the course with multiple tricks. Glad to see matias make finals. I did think his heelflipnout trick should have been scored higher.

He hasn’t failed yet; however, he not only has to get on the podium for the finals, but it also has to be in first place. On top of that, either Sora or Kari must not place anywhere near the podium, and the only way that's going to happen is if one of them has a bad day, which isn’t likely. So, not only does Yuto have to be perfect, he also has to hope the others perform poorly. Still a chance but odds are not in his favor.

@windubitably6 ай бұрын
Each obstacle is scored differently, and I think over time skaters recognize what scores higher, so they tend toward those spots. This may influence what’s built in the park, too. Similar stories are in lots of sports. For example, balance beam in gymnastics used to have a lot more creative skills, but tumbling tricks score higher, so beam is now pretty much all flips (not complaining, just saying it’s different).

The announcers are bad at their job because they don't know the difference between a "tre-flip-frontside-boardslide" & a "bigger-flip-frontside-boardslide" or a "Varial-heelflip-boardslide" & a "big-heel-boardslide". Also, the announcers do not understand the basic concept of trick approach and confuse fakie trick names because of their lack of understanding. Also, the announcers do not understand the trick stance within the trick name only applies to the take-off stance. ... *This is supposed to be world class so the announcers should be world class. But they are not.

Hot take, but I think we need to stop saying “big spin boardslide” when someone does a “shove-it boardslide” because that 90 degree rotation is already included in every boardslide. If we’re talking about any grind, that’s different. A big spin 50-50 makes sense, but if I hear “big spin board big spin out” I imagine the skater’s body turned 360 degrees (full turn), but if it was really a shove in shove out board, we’d expect only 180 degrees (half turn).

But you can’t go smashing a tennis ball into other objects off a tennis court. I’m not sure you really thought out this comparison. I used to ride a Santa Cruz deck with the popular “skateboarding is not a crime” motto plastered over it, and I’m annoyed with anti-skating obstacles, like metal blocks on ledges. But skaters DO have skateparks, just like tennis players have tennis courts, so your argument could be better.
