The results are pleasunt: nice exposure on an every shot, fine details too. I'm still looking on similar Olies with cation: "will I accommodate to the shape, controls?" -- still have these questions to myself. And its viewfinder doesn't seem large enough after EOS 1000, heh.. Yet, you got fine shots (the portrait, and that alley!), and the camera didn't let you down in any way

@@ReelFilm2016 Here is a bunch of similar iSes in my area (on a local selling board) -- almost cheaper models, though: iS-100, 200, 500, and even 5000. For the price of ~2-5 cr123 battery pack. I'm mostly Canon shooter, yet... those Olies still catch my attention :') Thank you for the videos. Both the reviews and photo galleries are inspiring.

Hi! I'm new to shooting film. During daylight, do you usually stick with the auto setting in your photos or do you change the aperture manually?
@ReelFilm20163 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. Well all the shots I took with my camera for the video were in automatic mode. Once you get more comfortable using the exposure triangle, you can experiment. Remember that the aperture will also affect the depth of field. My advice is to enjoy shooting. Automatic generally ensures that your pics are well exposed and if you are still learning, you might not want to waste to much film experimenting. I also find that having a cheap DSLR, can help you learn the exposure triangle much quicker. If I can help any more, please reach out.

@@ReelFilm2016 @Reel Film That's very helpful. I was kind of worried I'd have to immediately adjust aperture settings to get really well lit photos, like yours. I'll be sticking to auto for now. Thank you! I have the Olympus iS 200, btw 😊

Hi! I’m new to film and I just bought the IS-20. Does the camera have DX sensing or is there a way to adjust the ISO? If not, is there an equivalent function? Thank you for the informative video! Your photos were breathtaking.
@ReelFilm20162 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for watching and commenting. I am not entirely sure if the mode you refer to has DX sensing, but I would assume it would have. I would recommend searching online for the manual. Just type something like, Olympus IS-20 manual / instructions. Let me know how you get on and I wish you well with your film adventure.
@DavidWilliams7037A2 жыл бұрын
If you are still around. In answer to your question, yes the camera has to have film coded with DX. If you put a film in that is not DX coded (eg Fomapan), the camera will set the ISO to 25! The film speed can not be set manually.

@@DavidWilliams7037A That is a useful piece of information. Thank you.
@DavidWilliams7037A2 жыл бұрын
@@ReelFilm2016 You can get away with using non DX coded 100 ISO film by turning the exposure compensation dial to -2!. (If that helps.)

Um sir How do I put the film or photos in my computer if it doesn't have a usb port
@ReelFilm2016 Жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for watching and commenting. Well being a film camera, it is not the same as a modern digital device. Once you have shot your film, you would need to take it out of the camera and send it off to be developed and processed at a photo lab. Nowadays, most labs offer the option of having digital scans of your prints put onto a memory card or emailed to you. That is how you are able to put them on your computer or your smart phone. Hope that helps.

@@ReelFilm2016 thanks, I really appreciate that. I'll have a look at it once I get the chance. I just got the camera today, but don't know much about it. I just got it at a goodwill for $7. Since it worked and looks in good condition, I got it for my kid that likes to takes pictures. So basically since it's an older type of camera I don't know to much about. But thanks for the help.

@@5ives739 No worries at all. When I was last in the states back in 2019, I picked up a lovely pentax at a goodwill in Utah for $5 and then took it back to New York with me. Grabbed some film, shot some images and got it processed in Chinatown. The iS cameras are generally pretty solid. Let me know how you get on.
