Thank you Peter. There is so much to learn about photography nowadays. I started with Canon gear in 2012, and that was easy compared to all the things you can do with new cameras like Olympus. It is possible to adjust the brightness. Go to Live View Boost and set Live Composite to On2. It will show the image brighter, but it won't affect the exposure.

@ForsgardPeter5 жыл бұрын
It depends on what camera you have. Older models it can be found in manual mode as one of the "shutter speeds". On newer models it can be found from the Mode Dial when you choose B from it.

@@ForsgardPeter Hi actually all off but still cant see the feature am doing something wrong but dont know where. What shutter shall i keep the M mode?
@ForsgardPeter3 жыл бұрын
You need to set the mode dial to B. Choose Live Comp. from there. It does not matter what shutter speed you have on M. The shutter speed is set from the menu. When you have Live Comp. on, press the menu button. It will take straight to set the shutter speed. It is a bit awkward way to set the shutter speed.

Great functionality, but I'm not so happy on the following formulation on the configuration screen: "Exposure time per image" should read "Exposure time for the reference image". Or do I misunderstand?
@ForsgardPeter5 жыл бұрын
It has the same length. The camera takes consecutive images in a row and stacks them in camera to make one image.
@TheMarenches5 жыл бұрын
Ok, I thought the capture after the first image was done on a continuous basis. But what if you choose for instance 60 sec and for the 2nd image, you stop after 30 sec. Will the camera stop the capture immediately, or wait until 60 sec is reached?
@ForsgardPeter5 жыл бұрын
The camera will go on as long as there is power in the battery unless you stop it. It stacks the images.

If you dont' want to use the Olympus App you can use, on the olympus cameras which are accepting a "wired remote switch" (OM-D em1 Mark 3 is OK but not EPl-x and there is good and chip one able to replace the original OLY-RM-CB2 one. the brand name is JJC and called MA Series and available on Amazon

I don't get it. I read that the shutter speed tells the camera how fast the LCD refreshes and shows the image. But, I thought the shutter speed controls the exposure of the base photo. My image did not build and did not turn out right.
@ForsgardPeter2 жыл бұрын
What camera body you have. You set the camera to LiveComp and then form the menu you choose the shutter speed. You choose a shutter speed that gives you the correct exposure. You need to press the shutter button twice, the first one makes the camera do some calculations and the second one starts the exposure. What went wrong with the image?

@@ForsgardPeter M1 Mk III. Thank you Peter for responding. I don't know what I did wrong, but what I got was when I set up was a Time exposure, said Time on the LCD. I remember going into the Menu to set up Live Comp, but always ended up with Time (not sure if it was Live Time because the LCD never showed up. Eventually, I went back to the Dial, set it back to M, then back to B, then to Live Comp, and finally it did work. I don't know why Live Comp didn't stick. Then, I tried to turn it off in the Menu and couldn't find that, so I backed out by changing the dial to M for my normal shooting. Will have to try again to refine the process and ambient settings. Thanks.

It all depends on the brightness of the scene. The same logic that applies to normal photos and exposure applies to LiveComp. Measure the exposure with your cameras Light Meter and set those values when making Live Composite images.
