I'm very interested in that new remote! I've stopped using battery grips as I prefer to keep it as small as possible it's always nice option for those that like it and I do appreciate that the grip looks more like the bottom of the EM1X! Great video as usual, Peter!

I also bought the RM-WR1 wireless remote. Pairing was very easy with OM-1. I bought some extra batteries for the remote and put them in my camera bag. It also has a cable to connect it to my OM-D EM1 MK III.

I picked up my 2 x OM1 bodies on 9th March and since then have collected my new 40 - 150mm f4, battery grip, free batteries and my charger is now available for collection. So, together with my existing OM lenses and flash guns I am now sorted. The OM1 is an absolutely brilliant camera for my style of wildlife photography and now I have my grip it is much more comfortable with the 300mm f4 + MC14.

I didn't think about getting a battery grip for any of my other bodies until I happened to get one for my E-M1 (which I don't have anymore). Now I use battery grips on a lot of my camera bodies. My hands shake, so having the grip on the body in portrait mode makes it so much easier to hold. Sometimes I use it without the extra battery in the grip

In the part about the new wireless control, you note how to pair it with bluetooth. That makes me wonder if it would be possible to also pair a bluetooth GPS tagging device to OM1 Do you know if this is possible? The omission of GPS in such a high end travel camera seems hard to understand...

In theory it could be possible, but at the moment there might not be compatible GPS trackers.

The RM-CB2 Remote can be used with the OM-1? How? The camera doesn't have a port for controlling the shutter. (I own this remote but bought the new wireless remote because the older one doesn't work wit the OM-1. Did I spend $100 in error?
@ForsgardPeter2 жыл бұрын
Yes there is a port on the right side of the camera. It is the same place as the one in E-M1 Mark II and Mark III has the port.
@davidredfearn60652 жыл бұрын
@@ForsgardPeter You are correct! Hidden behind a cover - not mentioned or identified in any of the manuals for the OM-1. So, I wasted $100 because OM Digital wanted users to spend more money. I actually like the wired remote better (at least on the E-M5III) - I will see how it works on the OM-1. I don't think B&H will let me return the wireless remote because the battery has been installed. Thanks for pointing this out.

For the Rm-wr1 to work after I turn off and on the Om-1, I have to delete pairing, and start pairing. If I don’t do this, the remote controller does not work. Do you know this problem? And what can I do?

Some people have pointed out that the quality of the Hld-10 does not compare to the quality of the camera or for that matter the Hld-9. Specifically, the battery door is flimsy. I have owned the Hld-9 and now the Hld-10, and I have to I agree. It's a bit of a disappointment. Other than that battery door, it's as solid as a tank.
