I think OMsystem is currently concentrating too much in one direction and is not exploiting the advantages of the system, which can also be found in street photography. A gently reworked Pen F would play into the prevailing trend there.
@al_in_philly5832 Жыл бұрын
I've been using m4/3 for street photography ever since the first OLY EM-5 came out over 10 years ago. The system's light weight and relative stealth make it a natural for this sort of photography. Paired with some of the super fast m4/3 lenses available you can opt for lower ISO settings, so even in low light shooting, there is little noise penalty because of the smaller sensor--the longer DOF from the small sensor makes using apertures of f/1.2 possible when it would be far too shallow on a FF camera. The Pro 17mm f1.2 is great for this type of shooting.
@_cyclofob8990 Жыл бұрын
@@al_in_philly5832 That is the problem. The OM5 is a good substitute for a Pen F. The side-mounted viewfinder is not an advantage for me because I look through the viewfinder with my left eye anyway. At the end of the day, it's the finish of the camera that counts and that's where the Pen F is way ahead for my taste. For now, I'll be hitting the road with my M1.3 and the 17 1.2 pro :-)
@rumrill5020 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. I have a full-frame digital camera, and for me M43 is all about every day, street, or travel photography. My OM-5 fills that niche, but an updated and weather-sealed Pen (and a weather-sealed 17mm or 14mm prime) would be instant purchases. Another dream would be a fixed-lens rangefinder-style camera with an f1.8 or f2 28mm or 35mm-equivalent lens and weather sealing. Something to compete with the X-100V or GR3. Another feature I enjoy on my OM-5 as a new-ish and time-limited photographer is the Monochrome JPEG setting. Not sure about sensor availability, but if Pentax and Leica can make interesting monochrome-only cameras, why not OM System? A Pen F monochrome would be really fun.

I was introduced to Olympus series back in 2018 and quickly fell in love with the system and features. I believe OM systems have a bright future, but I agree that they must continue to take advantage of the new trends that consumers are flocking to. What I'm currently excited about is the patent that was issued to OM systems for a Star Tracking feature. I have been slowly gravitating towards using my OM1 for astronomy shots. According to the patent, OM wants to use the amazing IBIS unit in the camera and lens body to track bodies as they move along the sky. Moon images will be sharper being able to use as long exposure with High Res mode and tracking ability to bring out more detail. It's this type of innovation that excites me about this company. It show me that they are in it for the long haul. I am the only photographer here in Calgary working at the Camera Store who uses the Olympus/OM system and I wouldn't trade this system for anything in the world.

I bought the OM-1 and into the M43 system about 2 months ago due almost exclusively to your content. I watch every video and have learned a lot. I have a Nikon Z6II and the Nikon mirrorless system, but the OM Systems and M43 is just more fun to carry around on our Family adventures. Combine the OM-1 with the f1.2 Pro lenses with the f2.8 zooms and you have a great combination of size, speed and imagine quality. It is not full frame, but 99% of the people who see my photos would never notice. You have to think differently to shoot M43, but that is part of the fun. That brings me to the biggest reason of all .... I really enjoy the M43 system!! The small cameras, high computational functionality, great image stabilization and beautiful images - all perfect for someone that has a family and is trying to document life. I carry my OM-1 with me when I travel along with 2-3 lenses. I never did that with my Z6II. It was just too big. I am looking forward to shooting high school Cross Country and Track with the OM-1. I think the images will be terrific. I would also like to try some used Panasonic Leica M43 lenses on the OM-1. I have the Olympus f/1.2 trilogy, but it would be fun to try other M43 brands. One advantage to M43 is the wide range of used lenses at reasonable prices. If OM Systems offered an updated Pen F exactly as you described for

Agree on the Pen-F and retro-look cameras. The fact that OMS has not taken advantage of the X100 craze(sold out everywhere), with a new Pen-F, is “management malpractice”! The mono/color dial on the Pen-F is so much easier to create new film-sims using color wheels than using Fuji’s matrix of menu items, where you can’t see the immediate effect of a choice until the very end, when you don’t know which menu item to go back and change… like Macintosh vs. MS-DOS. OMS has the tech to make the best retro camera happen, but do they have the vision? My silver Pen-F ALWAYS attracts attention no matter where I go - especially if it has a retro looking lens on it. P.S. a Pen-M(onochrome) would be amazing… 🤔

I use two OM-5's which I add grips to when I need to handle the larger lenses. I love these cameras. Started with Micro Four Thirds back in 2009 or so with a Panasonic G1 (and was shooting Nikon at the time). Rotated through some early Sony (disappointing), some later Micro Four Thirds, then Fuji. Now I've come back to Micro Four Thirds as my only system. I also have an E-PL10 and some primes which go everywhere with me. Not a pro, so I've "trimmed down" to just the 3 cameras. I do some "professional" type work though helping out some non-profits for, yes, no profit, lol. Love your videos, Jimmy -- you are truly a voice of reason. A fan without being a "fan boy", if you know what I mean. Keep it up and thanks.

Returning to the spirit of the micro 4/3 is indeed bringing out a compact camera in line with the OM10, with improved autofocus, direct access to personalized modes as on the OM10 II, adding a speed limit minimum, make it watersealing (as well as the premium 1.8), keep a screen that can only be tilted (the best for street and travel photography: we don't all want to make YT videos with ourselves...). In short, a camera with probably fewer features but powerful for all uses! (not a "limited and familial" entry level)

I was able to shoot successfully with the e-M1.2 for 7 years and I've migrated to the OM-1 and feel comfortable keeping with it for a similar length of time. Regarding your megapixel comments, I've used the HHHR mode for portrait work with no problem (as well as the secret hack for this mode and low-noise astrophotography), but I don't really believe in the megapixel wars. The output from m43 system cameras is more than sufficient for most peoples' needs. I've been able to comfortably make 40" x 30" prints. How much larger are the vast, vast, vast majority of users going to need?

The idea of the E-M5 Mk III put into a lightweight, compact "OM-10" focused as an entry-level / young family camera is interesting, combined with your comments about social media. I bought my first Nikon DSLR in 2003 after my daughter was born. It changed how I captured family memories. The current E-M10 Mk IV is far more capable than that camera from a photo/video clip perspective. Yet, to your point, the "OM-10" could bring USB-C, and basic open-gate / vertical video that is so popular today. Bridging the gap between great photo, simple & clean menus, and easy sharing are important. This means solid jpeg color science, too. Young and busy families probably don't have a lot of uninterrupted time to dedicate to post-processing. A phone's strength is not its camera. It is it's simplified processing and ease of posting. This leads to your point about firmware updates. It's time to ditch the term firmware updates (which sound like 'fixes') and move to software updates, which can bring "fixes" as well as enhancements. And one final recommendation: for raw, move to the open digital negative (DNG) format. It's time to step away from each vendor using a unique raw format.

I’m thinking about picking up an OM1 as an addition to my FF. I do landscapes so having a smaller, lighter, system to carry around without need of a tripod is the main selling point. 1) keep size and weight down 2) focus on features that eliminate needing gear in the field (HHHR, astro tracking, LiveND, etc…) 3) IP weather sealing rating. Confidence in the equipment.
@sabatiniontech7256 Жыл бұрын
There are three products which will greatly improve the OM lineup. 1) A version of the OM-1 with a 45 megapixel sensor for wildlife/landscape/studio work. Activities where you may need to crop. Sony already makes the sensor, OM needs to put it in a camera. 2) They need a newer version of the Pen F. Small and light is what Micro Four Thirds is all about but no one currently builds such a camera. 3) They need to make a portrait zoom, 25-75mm f2.8. Constantly changing lenses during portrait is a pain. Now looking at a longer future they need to think about two things First is that sensor technology is changing, Nikon is correct with the Z9/Z8 on that stacked sensors and no mechanical shutters is the wave of the future. Add to that Dual Layer photodiodes which improve low light by a factor of 2 and every current sensor is obsolete. The second advance is in optics. Canon makes a 24-100mm f1.8-2.8 lens for one inch sensors, Micro Four Thirds also needs a wide aperature zoom lens.

I don't know where to begin with my thoughts.. except first to thank you for supporting the format and the brand. I recently did a presentation to a local photo hobbyist group on the micro four-thirds format.. I had EM1 Mark 2 and 3.. a Panasonic G9 and several lenses.. but the camera that got the most attention was the new brown leather-look epl-10 that I just bought. I got several comments on how stylish it was.. but some disappointed feedback that it wasn't up-to-date on focus tech and video capabilities. People,, whether they think of it as a style item or not are losing their minds over the Fuji rangefinder style cameras. The absolute next camera that OM System should release is a Pen F sized rangefinder addressing those exact things that you suggested in your video. I have seven micro four-thirds cameras and I would rush to buy that if it had the advanced features wanted today.. including vertical format shooting.. it doesn't need to be a super sophisticated open gate type setup.. add the mic Jack.. keep the superb stabilization.. and the computational photography we expect from the brand.. so much more to say on this topic I wish you and Rob, Peter, Robin and the Emilies we do a combined video more than just once a year..

If OM systems would weather seal the kit lenses (14-42 and 40-150) I think that would attract a lot of "consumer level" buyers to the brand. Most modern cameras are more capable than the average person needs, but weather sealing might be a welcome addition.

Hi Jimmy, agree with all your points. Just before the release of the OM-1 and Panasonic G6 I was using the Lumix G9. The G9 is an amazing hybrid camera but I was slightly disappointed with the autofocus system and the colours I got from the its engine. Marginal concerns though. When the G6 and OM-1 launched I was attracted to the features of the OM-1... mainly because I was not interested in the G6 as it leaned towards being a video centric camera. I purchased the OM-1 and have been very pleased with the results. The G9 is a great camera and I will not sell it...but my OM-1 is always my go to camera. I have jumped ship to OM systems and after one year of using an almost perfect camera I would like to see a 25 Mp sensor as I feel this would complete the system perfectly. The 20 Mp sensor on OM-1 is still very capable and I don’t really have many complaints other than the need to have a little my flexibility when it comes to editing. It is difficult to fault the OM-1 and a slightly higher megapixel sensor is all I need from a photo centric system. I’m not that interested in a G6 hybrid equivalent to be honest but from an OM-1 marketing point of view should they compete against a successful G6?. It sounds like they need too from what you are saying. But the OM-1 is a powerhouse of a camera for stills. Would love to see a major firmware update for OM-1 and for a OM-2 a slightly bigger sensor and next gen high res mode . And a more collaborative stance with Panasonic and OM systems especially with lens sync would be good.

Coming from Canon FF and Fuji, I recently bought a Pen E-P7 to replace my X100V. Yes, you read me well :). And you know what? I have absolutely no regret. The IBIS is a game changer to me, making casual street and family videos a breeze. And the choice of good small M43 lenses makes it more versatile and compact than Fuji. Aside of the X100 series, the X-E4 has no IBIS, the X-S20 is amazing but more bulky and has no good pancake options to match with. So I also really think there’s an avenue for Olympus to score a big hit with a Pen F-2 or E-P8 with PDAF.

I certainly agree that a PEN F style camera could create a great niche for OM Systems similar to the following of the GRIII, Fuji X100, Q2/Q3 and even the older Sony RX1R. A PEN F would allow an element of premium pricing to recover development and hopefully generate profitability for the business to fund future models. Hi Jimmy, from the comments already posted this is the video I really hope that OM takes note. From my perspective (and most has already been said below) 1. OM1 - a few more megapixels (although not needed) would probably be praised by the bloggers and critics. Improve autofocussing and maybe up the ante on the video side. This camera is not just for sports, wildlife and macro. It can (and should be) marketed as a fully-fledged camera to include weddings, events, studio work, a complete all-rounder! Maybe a CF memory card? 2. OM5 - need USB-C and upgrade the menu system ala OM1 even if diluted to leave out some of the high-end features like wildlife detection, leave face detection 3. Pen-F, you’ve said it. Bring back updated version of Pen-F, OM1 sensor and menu system as per OM5 above. USB-C charging, updated OVF, better video. Can be pretty unique in so many ways. I’d prefer a tilt screen over the fully articulated. 4. Pen EP or EPL as a true vlogging camera, good at stills but really good at video. Simple smartphone connection. C’mon Jimmy make it happen, we know you can.👏 Great channel by the way.👍👍👍

Good morning Jimmy, here are my thoughts on your video: OM1 subject detection should be upgraded to offer the same features as the Sony Alpha, ie insect and people detection, obviously the CAF and low light SAF need fixing. The EM10 replacement should offer the same customisation as the Mkii. It should offer a better CAF focusing system, not necessarily PDAF. I was a new photographer and I bought the EM10 Mkii for £400 new in 2019 with the two kit lenses, I can set up custom modes to quickly change settings and with the tilt screen is my favourite for street photography. A previous video you made stated that the PIC 9 processor is equal to two PIC 8´s, so OM Systems should issue an update for the thousands on EM1 Mkiii´s to give basic subject detection, equal to the EM1X. I would imagine a lot of photographers use their old EM1 Mkiii as a backup for their OM1. The TG6 could do with a newer faster reading sensor, given the limited focal length, the current 12Mp sensor is adequate, but a 16 Mp would be better! I never owned a PEN F, but from other tutorials, they appear to very popular still, used prices are high, maybe worth making a Mkii. I´d like to see an OM System version of the 6mm f2 Laowa, with auto focus. Keep up the good work!

Lumix user here: when I was starting out, the Lumix 12-32 kit lens swung the choice for me. If Oly had an equivalent wide-angle kit option back then (2017) I wouldn't have gone to the "dark side". I'm a photo enthusiast (not a pro) and huge fan of MFT. I own both the E-M1X and E-M5 Mark iii and many OM/Oly lenses. I don't do any video but agree they need a solid hybrid camera to stay relevant. What I personally really want to see is a weather sealed Pen F type camera. I'd also gladly buy two if they'd release a monochrome version of that camera, three if they'd be so bold as to release one with an infrared sensor which no major brand has done that I'm aware of. I'd also like to see them produce a very compact, preferably weather sealed body, something the size & style of the GM-1 that could compete with the Ricoh GR series of cameras. I'd buy one of them in a heartbeat as an everyday have it all the time camera.

Beside that I am really wish that OM system can able to reconfigure the tracking system in all aspect as up until it still lack of something in it "you know what i meant" and best of all is the all brand new "The PEN F ii" in order to pushing further of MFT format. I still waiting for PEN F ii to come out even i owned 2 unit of olympus camera.

nice to hear your thoughts. I think OM Systems are focusing its limited resources. They have to develop the next OM-1, a "proper" OM-5 and additional lenses. An OM-10 makes sense but OM will wait until their existing tech can be placed in it so perhaps we won't see it until after the OM-1/5 are replaced?
@Red35Photography Жыл бұрын
Interesting thoughts. You may be right. it can be dangerous to wait that long. OM-1 could be replace in 12-18 months and OM-5 another 6-9 months after, that leaves a big huge gap in between without no product launch. As much as I hate companies releasing cameras too quickly, such gap will make many consumers forget about the brand... it's almost as important as marketing itself.
@video-carl Жыл бұрын
@@Red35Photography I agree. The OM-5 is £1200 on wex. OM probably won't see much profit in launching something below this and may well lose sales of OM-5. I suggest M43 manufacturers produce a small PEN body without an EVF but with a display that can be used outside - the logical first step for a phone user

How about OM Systems starting a You Tube channel and talking to the market about their ideas and encouraging a lot of comments in return? A serious conversation between manufacturer and customers would produce a lot of good ideas and help them decide how to advance their cameras, lenses and software.

Lots of good points on what is needed in the next generation. I love the OM-1. Still, the build quality should be improved: some buttons tend to get stuck (e.g., record button/red dot on top of right hand grip, and others). Don't know if it is because of dust, or sweat drops, or what .. This showed up after a sweaty walk in 40C in Spain one year ago... All models could benefit from better smartphone integration. E.g, faster/automatic upload of pictures to smartphone... Is it possible to make use of OM pictures in Facebook, Instagram, etc as quick and easy as when using phone camera?

I sold all my Pro gear which was a big stack. Went Nikon FF and really loving the Image quality. I kept the Pen F and loved it for years but it it is now having issues recognizing my little 12-42 pancake. So I am probably either finding a Pen like maybe the EPL7 or even the EP7. Or going full out Nikon with maybe the ZFc. I want a small travel Cam. OM needs to refocus on small Cams. A Pen F mkII would be a no-brainer buy for me if they really improve the AF and Ev. But I don't see that happening.

I love my Sony full-frame cameras (and my ZV-1). But I also like my Olympus cameras. The EP and PEN product lines have been great and are still a pleasure to use (especially my ancient EP-3 which produces "vintage" style imagery without post-processing.. How you mentioned, there is a lot of market potential in the PEN size camera market. OM-systems should really monetize on that. Tweaking the Art Filters for the use on Instagram & Co. might create a new following.

Besides a preference for Panasonic menus, the main thing that has prevented me getting an OM1 vs waiting for a G9 II are the better/more granular video features that Panasonic offers. I'd say I'm a 70:30 stills:video shooter, so while the photo elements are very important, video can't be overlooked. I reckon a m43 equivalent of the Nikon Z8 would be my perfect camera - killer features with more compact lenses

Really liking the MFT system as I age, the G9ll is all I'm looking for. I wouldn't be against the OM system, but all of my MFT stuff is centered toward Lumix... and I've been happy with it, and still am.

Thank you for your suggestions. i would buy the om-5 in a heartbeat if it had the menu and sensor of the om-1. Then I would have a lightweight camera that can do everything I need. Or a new pen f with the interior of the om-1. I think om systems is hurting themselves if they don't equip their models in the best possible way. Because otherwise you look around for other brands. I would be an MFT fan immediately if om systems would go in this direction.

Jimmy, I have the feeling OM systems is finishing projects set in motion by Olympus and is not starting new projects. When they start doing that I would continue to invest in this system and not before. Developing a new camera with a new sensor is such a project that is long overdue in my opinion. And not one with more and thus smaler pixels but a sensor with better low light/high ISO performance and a better dynamic range.

Jimmy, I want to thank you for what you're doing, for being so "stubbornly" loyal to MFT and Olympus/OM, and for showing us that you easily can do great work without having to shoot with full frame. Because of you, and some few others, my interest in checking out MFT was kept alive through the last three years or so, and recently I finally took the chance to check it out, getting an Oly Em5 III with the 12-45mm f4. Just that setup proved to me that MFT has everything I need and then some. All my doubts were put to shame. Now I also got the Panasonic G9 and am in the process of getting rid of the last of my heavy, big, and too expensive full frame gear, so I can invest the money in MFT. So, keep up the good job, Jimmy. You're doing good to the community.

Having recently purchased a second EM1X due to its current discounted street price here in the states. I believe OM Systems could be in a very enviable position regarding new and existing users. what i thought for the MFT that can make the world 'WOW' is: 1) makes 'ALL' the new pro lens become f/2 or f/1.8 and support mc-14 and mc-20. it's means you pay for 1 pro lens but you own 2 pro lens with mc-14/20 , imagine the weight 12-40 f/2 + mc-14/20 = 12-40 f/2 + [17-56 f/2.8] or [24-80 f/4] , you will save a lot of $ and weight. 2) new 'AI' processor is a MUST HAVE to all new products , this is a big step to MFT. 3) new lens with bigger aperture and more compact and higher IQ. 4) alliance IBIS between Olympus and Panasonic , this will make the world of photography crazy. 5) put the new AI processor and new AF system into Pen F , king of street photography camera to be born. 6) put the new AI processor and new AF system into OM-10 , king of vlog camera to be born. 7) PLEASE ignore my comment if i mentions something wrong.
@pgy8863 Жыл бұрын
It's a mature system, with a mature set of lenses which makes it attractive in the used market. You can't improve the IBIS. But like all camera systems, anything build in the last 10 years or so, provides most of what everyone needs. It's the plateau effect as it were. The OM-5.3 is all the camera that I need (in OM-5.2 was an amazing piece of kit too). So here's some thoughts: - agree exactly with what you said about the OM-10 and PEN-F. There is no room to improve the OM-10.4 and there is plenty of scope for the PEN-F. It would likely generate a lot of buzz for the system too. - I'd like to see a new super mini, super cute PEN style body with either a viewfinder or a display (I'd prefer just the VF). Focus on small with PEN-7/8 handling but quality. - weather seal the 75mm lens. - update and weather seal the 12mm and 17mm 1.8. Honestly there is very little scope for improvement in the line. Now ask me about Sony APSC and I'll write a novel - that's a half baked format!

Thank you RED35 for this video to answer my question to your 4-year old video. Everybody is asking for Pen-F2 how come they give up the whole retro market to Fujifilm? I have a long time Olympus user from E520, EP1, EP4, to Pen-F. I jumped to Sony with A77 (transparent mirror) then jumped back for its size. Frankly speaking as Sony full frame comes up with 24/40/50 primes, when attached to A7C they are the same weight as my Pen-F + 20mm F1.4. (however on the telephoto side OM is still lighter, smaller and more affordable) OM should make full use of the space saved in the camera body and make better electronic (computational?) and mechanic (better IBIS?) capabilities or it's a shame when full frame can be faster and even lighter than m43? OM1 is a dream camera for landscape wild life and bird photographers however there are also big market in other areas.

Hey Jimmy, very nice video. I totally agree that OM System needs to release a firmware update for the O-M1, but I don't know what is their capacity to do that. Fuji and Nikon for example release firmware updates with new features for their flagship cameras like crazy. OM-1 was released more than a year ago and there were just some small fixes and improvements. There is no FW 2.0 and I think we should be at 3.0 now. I wish they add video 4K 120 fps, to fix the C-AF and add some other functions, but if it will happen I don't know. For the PEN-F I totally agree, make it weather-sealed, but they need to add the sensor and processor from OM-1, even if it makes it a little bit more expensive. If they add the old sensor from E-M1 II and just make it weather sealed it will be a huge mistake for me. A new sensor for better DR and lower noise is mandatory. They can even make a truly B&W version, which will be amazing or if it's possible make a dedicated b&w RAW file. OM System just needs to act very fast now and to be more agile.
@jshanni2066 Жыл бұрын
As a Pen-F owner, I'd eagerly await a successor. Weather seal it, and give it Om-5 internals . Or even better, a new sensor. But it would also need a new line of lenses. Weatherseal the 1.8 primes . Even better, build a 3 lens prime kit that incorporate aperture rings for the full retro , analogue themed market.

I'm not sure if MFT will ever fully revive but rumours are that Lumix may launch a G9II soon. I think coming of the back of the success of their recent cameras Lumix probably have a better chance of keeping MFT alive over OM System. But, for the sake of the industry I wouldn't want to lose MFT or OM-System / Lumix cams.
@nightowlnzab Жыл бұрын
I am curious to see what Lumix might bring, PDAF would be a big step forward - a G9II would be very interesting, and I've admired their smaller models like the GX series. Beyond the OM-1, I think OM System still need to demonstrate their direction, and the OM-5 was a disappointing indicator (as a luke warm refresh).
@ac6044cw Жыл бұрын
I thought the OM-5 was a sensible 'need to update the 5 series quickly' move, but the next version really needs to borrow the OM-1 processor at least to keep up with the APS-C X-S20 and A6700 (which is actually a smaller body than the OM-5, and not much more expensive). And yes, a Lumix GX10 with PDAF, a microphone input and at least some support for 4k60 video, paired with the Lumix 14-140mm lens, would be a superb travel camera combo that really plays to the strengths of micro4/3.

My recommendation to all camera producers: You (or OM) should cooperate tightly with a smartphone company in order to feed the smartphone in real time with a picture, that is produced by a camera (because of the proper sensor and lens...). Invent a kind of "standardised" interface for camera/phone communication(in case USB-C would not be sufficient). I could imagine a kind of "jack in the phone as a swivel display into the camera". Further on - concentrate on proper software in the phone (app) to interact with the camera (dials and so on) and use the computational power of the phone. Only that would be the way to go, because the phone manufacturers already try to integrate more and more camera technologies into their devices by their own. Keep on concentrating on what you do good. Ergonomics, Optics, IBIS. Make benefit of smartphones - dont compete with them.

Lots of creators are currently buying the original Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera and its 2nd hand price is soaring.. Its small form, dynamic range was great but you had to add a cage and a shed load of batteries and add ons to make it worth it so no longer pocket. An Olympus Pocket Cinema Camera based on the PEN F or PL10 chassis with either an EVF or optional EVF via the hot shoe, 10 bit ProRes or RAW, with at least 12 stops of dynamic range, headphone and mic in, full sized HDMI, current Olympus 5 axis IBIS plus dual autofocus, 60 fps C4K, 240 FPS 1080P and 2 memory card slots would be great. As video centric could get away with a 16 mega pixel sensor for C4K or 5K. There would need to be serious investment in developing a proper flat / lOG profile and LUT's that can be used in all NLE's (there is still not official flat/ LOG profile LUT for the EM1 MKII in FCPX). I would buy this, I currently use a JVC GYLS300 with Olympus / Panasonic MFT lens for broadcast TV work and an EM1 MKII for B Roll and hand helD guerrilla stuff. Also re-introduce the PEN Mini. I still use the original PM1for fun stuff as its generally pocket sized and for what I'm filming / photographing do not need a flippy screen (you don't have a flippy screen on a mobile). Base the sPec on something like the EM10 MKIII but better low light performance and this will destroy any mobile phone camera but have the flexibility of changing lens and RAW.
