My grandfather was stationed in Germany at the same time as Elvis. One day, Elvis asked him if he wanted to bring his sons over to play football. My grandfather, who had five boys including my father, agreed. That afternoon, they played for hours. One of my uncles told me that after making a play, Elvis rubbed his head, and he vowed never to wash his hair again.

I grew up watching Johnny U and was a Baltimore Colts fan. But I remember when Archie played for Ole Miss and I loved watching him play when I could catch a game on TV. I also remember cruising in my '55 Chevy and they would to play the song "The Ballard of Archie Who" on the radio. And I'm from South Carolina and been a Gamecock fan all my life. It was hard not to be when you had friends and two cousins that played there. In my opinion Archie Manning and Sonny Sixkiller where the two best college QBs.
