@Tyler are you trying to say Willis was the better middle linebacker? Not even close, Ray Lewis was voted by his peers, coaches, ex players as the most dominating, intimidating, hardest hitting, best linebacker from the last twenty years, the measurements of a great player is by how he's viewed by his peers and Ray Lewis is also said by many NFL alum that he was the greatest middle linebacker of all time, Willis was good, but he's not considered as one of the all time greats, sorry dude, facts speak for themselves

There is one flaw I see in Ray Lewis and that is never wear white to a crab feast. Other than that the man was a true professional and is arguably the greatest at motivating, studying and putting it all together as a superb physical athlete.

Ray was just unreal, next to L.T. and Singeltary and, this is even debatable becasue that 2000 Ravens team is the best defensive team in NFL history, but he may very well be the greatest leader of men in NFL history.

As a diehard Patriots fan for 30+ years I’ve seen some really good games, watched us have really bad years and got to watch the GOAT for 20, but I loved watching our games vs these two guys. We had the Colts’ number most of the time but the damn Ravens were NOT afraid of coming into Foxboro in January. I hated when the Pats had play them but loved to watch those games. Respect the hell out of Ray Lewis. Those eyes pre-snap, reminded me of Mike Singletary. Guy was an absolute beast and a very, very smart player

Only 3 defenses since the merger have been #1 in total defense, #1 in points allowed, #1 in Interceptions while finishing w/ 60+ sacks & 40+ takeaways: - 1985 Bears (18-1, SB Champs) > 12.4 PPG allowed > 258.4 YPG allowed > 54 takeaways > 34 Interceptions > 64 sacks > 5 defensive TDs - 1986 Bears (14-2, #2 seed) > 11.7 PPG allowed > 258.1 YPG allowed > 47 takeaways > 31 Interceptions > 62 sacks > 3 defensive TDs - 2006 Ravens (13-3, #2 seed) > 12.6 PPG allowed > 264.1 YPG allowed > 40 takeaways > 28 Interceptions > 60 sacks > 6 defensive TDs The 1986 Bears offense had 47 turnovers so them not winning a title isn't stunning whatsoever as not many teams win a Super Bowl averaging 3 turnovers a game. How they even got to 14-2 is nuts tbh. 😳 The 1985 Bears season on defense speaks for itself. So I think people don't give Peyton Manning near the credit he deserved for the game he had vs the 2006 Ravens b/c in a lot of ways that unit was superior to the 2000 unit that won the Super Bowl. That 2006 team faced a solid schedule whereas the 2000 unit - while still historically stingy - faced A LOT of really bad QBs & used that to stat pad a bit more. Peyton Manning & Ray Lewis had a great rivalry but outside of beating him early on (1998, 2001) in his worst 2 seasons as a Colt; Peyton generally got the best of the Ravens up until their final matchup in the playoffs. Peyton Manning vs Ray Lewis: 252/392 (64.3% completion rate) 2,979 yards (7.6 YPA) (270.8 YPG) 22 TD Passes (5.6% TD%) 10 Interceptions (2.5% INT%) 95.4 Passer Rating 8-3 W-L Record 26 PPG (72.7% winning percentage) That ranks right there w/ the 2005 playoff loss to Pittsburgh as Peyton’s most devastating loss in the playoffs.
