The way I interpret this is that Daniel Ceasar’s character is ignored by his family and they wouldn’t notice if he went away. They blew a birthday cake over his dead body. Omar’s character was put under a MRI machine to try and understand the issues, and the brain scan was cool too - when he said my brain on 2CP. So that resulted in them having to isolate their romance to the loneliness of the desert and even then they’re still wearing masks in fear of being seen for who they truly are. I also thought that intro of them as little, innocent children playing with toys in the alleyway speaks to how we all come into the world - precious and perfect, which continues, until our parents or home see us differently. I love this whole concept and it’s so beautifully done. I’m a big fan!!!

Jesus. Our boy is moving at warped speed. I can’t think of another artist who I’ve seen, progress in terms of talent and range so rapidly. It’s insane how much thought goes into every one of his projects. They could easily take 3x as long to execute. This is so layered and raw and nuanced. Im here for the full embrace of sexuality in this video. No hesitation, no quiet shame or suppressed feelings. & the fact that he’s conceptualizing the videos as well, demands more credit. It takes genuine artistry, depth and vulnerability to bring a visual to life that tells a story and cuts to the core of the viewer. He’ll be directing his own projects in no time. Gah i could keep going but i shan’t. So lastly- I think he’s going to be one of the most prolific queer artists of this generation & thank god I’m alive for ittt. Ok, what the hell was that!? It’s around 2:am Saturday night/Sunday morning, and, like a good productive insomniac, I’m in the kitchen going about my business cleaning things, washing dishes with the TV on and KCRW on the radio in the background….And then this song comes on. I notice how beautiful it is, so I mute the TV and listen to it and begin to look it up on the radio station’s website playlist on my iPad. It finishes playing but I decide to look up the video on KZbin and possibly download it to my iPad. I find the video,…. I watch it, listening to the lyrics and getting drawn into it…. the melody, the lyrics, the video…. All of it….. I can’t explain it or why, but before I knew it,…. this 56 year old man (me) starts getting emotional and sobbing helplessly. The song and video together are so moving and beautifully deep. It’s truly amazing when something can touch ones emotional core so directly addressing issues of how unpredictably fragile human life is and the priceless value of the close emotional bonds we hold with those who are irreplaceable in our short and precious lives. It’s a very haunting cathartic piece that seems to address the pain associated with the loss of loved ones in addition to celebrating the memories of time spent with them. My hearing it tonight just seemed a bit serendipitous in timing because in addition to recently reflecting on the number friends and family members lost to COVID over the past 2 years, I also just received news earlier this evening of the passing of a dear old friend who had been in a coma for the past 9 months (non COVID related). I also noticed that parts of the video had been filmed on location at RSI Studios at Cal Poly Pomona (Ambulance scene and house scenes, and more) which coincidentally is where I had worked on an Amazon film for 9 months in 2019 together with my buddy who recently died. That was the last time I had seen him in person. The Multiverse has a way of doing that. Oh, the ‘Feels’. Needless to say, I put the song on ‘Repeat’ for the next hour or so and just let it all flow…. Never forget to hold those dearest to you close and tell them often how special they are in your life. Today is all we have.

First time I heard this song I was blown away. I was in my car coming up on the intersection I always cross before getting to my house after work. Someone blew threw a red light and I had just enough to time to stop suddenly, with him narrowly missing me, this happening just seconds before the pre chorus where the lifeline beeps come in. I was absolutely shook, I thought how poignant that a song like this plays as I contemplate my life almost ending. This song still makes me cry sometimes. Would you notice me?
