Since, i ve always felt like Slim knew his boundaries but wasnt scared of no one, just a formidable soilder and a gangsta all the way. Him at this interaction with Marlo cemented that he was THE man, whereas Prop Joe was losing face at this co op meeting. Therefore, Slim wasnt taking any off Marlo and Chris, and made sure both were in check while having a word with Joe. An alpha move, if u will.

Proposition Joe was one of the "real" ones, he stuck to tradition and family. 4:29 Cheese was from the new school that only thought about what's going on today and what's going on in the streets. Cheese was actually Randy's father but abandoned him.

Then, three seasons later in Season 4, Omar sticks a gun in Joe's face, in that excellent "ran outta time" scene. The development of the relationship of the two characters is amazing.

Ironically, it's Prop Joe's fault that Marlo distrusts security. He manipulated and lied to Marlo previously that security at his poker game colluded with Omar to steal the money. Now that Omar stole the shipment, Marlo is suspicious of whoever was in charge of the stash. So, to save his nephew, he set a meeting for Marlo to meet his connection. This is the beginning of his end.
