50+ club member, Just decided to commit my wisdom of media and creativity to help others grow on the platform. For 15 years, I've treated KZbin as a virtual hard drive for client work. Now i'm aiming my camera at me... and it's already getting better (in a few days). I'm locked in bro. Thank you for the encouraging conversation.

Thanks Omar! GREAT topic. Im 36 father of two (still in paternity leave for the second one) and I feel kind of grown up when comparing to all 20’ successful kids living in Dubai that I see in social media. I’m starting my personal brand in this channel next February and I’m all in… gonna make an impact in some people’s lives . Thanks for your work

Thank you for this..I needed to watch this..I woke up with anxiety and doubt this morning again.I had to pray to calm my spirit..I am 45 and ditched 9 to 5 in August this year to pursue what has been stuck inside of me for years..I have just not had the courage to start a personal KZbin channel yet..I hope to share my testimony one day as I know God is about to do huge supernatural things !!

For clarity, not naming someone does NOT protect you legally. Especially when you make it clear that the exact interview was transcribed. It will be very easy to make a connection to the person. 1+1=2. The best way is to have all interviewees sign a release that covers your intentions. My advice from a 40+ attorney to my 40+ going for it, do it right legally and don't risk starting later in life just to lose it all.
@Manila-wo3pi12 сағат бұрын
I’m curious-if what you're saying is true, can you still be sued? It seems like a lot of people are afraid to speak their truth because they're worried about getting sued.
@seekellavation10 сағат бұрын
@Manila-wo3pi good questions. Those are two different issues. A truth defense pertains to a defamation issue. Here, we are talking about a name, image, and likeness (NIL) issue. When you appropriate someone's else proprietary information, NIL, or intellectual property without their consent for commercial use there may be an infringement on said rights. To help with preventing that from happening just have people sign a release form that gives you a right to use the information beyond the original scope of airing an interview. The release form should state what your expected rights are pertaining to the content created. Otherwise the expectation is that one's NIL was only going to be used for the interview. Not transformed into other mediums. Even worse yet, I've seen it get ugly. The interviewee demanded that the interviewer not release the interview or take it down for certain reasons after they put all that time into it. If you have a release form it will protect you from that. I hope that helps.

Hey Omar. I've clicked on this to watch tomorrow in the car. I first saw your content when you interviewed Myron. I wonder if you'd be interested in interviewing me, at the early stages of business but with a huge vision. It would be a 'thinking out of the box' style move. All the best.
@ShoFuturisticКүн бұрын
Hey Omar, I’ve been struggling with this topic since you first did this months ago. I just turned 50, and frankly, I never had a career. I’ve found that I don’t have much advice as everything I’ve done has been scrappy and trying my hardest to get or keep a job. I moved to Vegas during pandemic and my career in editing and producing has been DEAD. Most of my interests faded in pursuit of survival, and it’s really tough to build a brand when I just can’t figure out my next step to earn ANY income. I have some video experience, but I don’t know what I can share that offers ANY value anymore. I never had a mentor, so being a mentor is something I’d love to do if i felt i could offer value. What do you or Mike suggest in THAT regard?
@OneRentalataTimeКүн бұрын
You could tell your story of struggle, changing cities, your 30 year career Do t think of it as being a mentor, think of it as being an imperfect human trying to share and do good
@ShoFuturisticКүн бұрын
@ I considered doing that for a long time. However, I was always under the impression that people only want to hear the struggle stories as long as you have your Tesla and success in the background of your videos? If you’re giving ‘broke’ advice, will people listen? I’d love to tell cautionary tales!

Two Q's for Michael: Is 62yo (still employed) too late to start?! I was just about to ask if you had the 15 people sign something.... Love your strategy, but wondering if you told them you'd be creating a book with their anonymous comments, or did you simply interview them, and thought about the book later perhaps?
