Random complement Chris: I like that you can talk very abstract and articulate without using overly abstract language. I feel like a lot of gurus out there at talk very abstract because they don’t know what they’re saying and they’re hoping someone who’s looking for emotional support will latch onto it. But I appreciate that you talk in concepts anchored with knowledge. Love your personal brand bro keep it up. I’m learning. Also, I shared your video with a friend 🤘

While I'm still struggling with crafting my authentic personal brand, this video captured a lot of what I've learned so far with Chris on this channel. Ironically, I'm a writer and I didn't think the hero's story method and tapping into my cultural capital plus my vulnerabilities can make me stand out. Thanks Chris for sharing this helpful knowledge!

It's actually so hard to start a personal brand, I've been trying for quite a bit now and I struggle between the balance of finding your purpose and just posting videos for the sake of posting. But here are some tips I got from my mentor. 1. Find yourself 2. Build yourself up, invest in yourself, become stable 3. Find your role in the world So a nice thing to add I learned from this video is to create an "enemy" or just try and create a commonality to really connect with your audience.
@TunaIRL8 ай бұрын
Some pretty dubious advice none of it's very actionable. Sounds nice but hard to make use of. I advise searching for stories in your past for moments that were important to you. Explore why those moments were important to you. Did you do something for someone? Did someone do something for you? Did something just happen that made you feel a certain way? Ask why until you can't go deeper and then go a bit deeper. If you just want to post for the sake of posting, why? What's important about posting videos? Why not go running? Or doing any of the other millions of other things? Why do YOU care about posting videos and why should anyone care about the videos you post. To add, videos shouldnt be the motivation. Videos should be the vehicle for what you want to bring to the world. Having an enemy is fine in a story context but in the real world you don't really have enemies which you wish to defeat. You have rivals who motivate you to grow by reminding you of who you are. You don't want them to go away.

I believe sharing your vulnerabilities with others is one of THE most powerful tools on any scale, in my previous job as a teacher , whenever I would open up to my students about what I'm struggling with I immediately felt a deeper sense of connection. They would feel like their teacher is a human like them, and the more you try preserve your image as a perfect human being, the more miserably you're going to fail.

The best video yet. True edutainment. I first learnt about Personal Branding over 10 years ago. But I experienced it much earlier, more than 20 years ago. We had on Olympic Swimmer here in Australia, Samantha Riley. She was really loved by all and had the girl next door image. One day, I saw her at the local bakery and I said Hi Sam, waved, smiled. In that moment, I had forgotten that I didn’t actually know her. But she was gracious and smiled and said Hi back.

Great insights on the power of vulnerability in personal branding. One advanced tactic is leveraging 'micro-moments' - brief, authentic glimpses into your daily life or behind-the-scenes that can significantly deepen audience engagement and trust. Remember, consistency in these moments builds a narrative that resonates more profoundly over time.

Great video Chris. I think one thing that came up for me is that a personal brand only has power with their audience. I never see Kanye in my feed, I don't listen to his music, he has no influence on me, in fact I can't really stand him, so there is zero emotional connection. So a personal brand has power and influence if we care about the person in some way. The Rock on the other hand meets the criteria you used, but feels like he has more influence. Just my thoughts on this

Absolutely one of kind information. I've had the pleasure of attending one of your workshops and this is just as valuable. The person I've admired for a long time and who definitely passes the test is musician, singer, wine creator, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, amateur chef/restauranteur Maynard James Keenan (vocalist for the bands Tool, A perfect circle and Puscifier) Not only does all three band have awards and recognitions but so does his wineries and he just received his black belt. This month he opened a fried chicken restaurant at one of his breweries in Arizona. One thing i have learned from him is having a love for different disciplines does not make you lost. As a designer with multi disciplined mindset myself, i believe there is a place in this world for designers like myself. Now onto figuring out this personal brand...

This was a great video. I've been teaching in China for the last 5 years, and I have a personal brand here. It just kinda happened based off the issues I publicly support and events I hosted, so in my opinion it doesn't reflect me fully. I tried rebranding and that feel flat. lol Fast forward to now, i'm leaving China in a few months and i'm trying to be conscious of my brand and what I want it to stand for. So this video was super helpful. I now know that I need to focus on the story I want to tell about myself and be clear and vocal about my values. Even if that upsets people. The main question that comes to mind is what are the best ways to deal with the fall out of making enemies? Like in the case of Ye. Even though he has millions, it's clear that his mental stability is questionable. And I have to wonder about all the people that take so much heat like that. How do you deal with the haters and the people that oppose you publicly?

Hi. I've caught a few of your videos so far. I own my own business and there were several refreshing points. What you don't seem to touch on is your delivery method. Your body language with your examples are just as powerful as your wording and syntax. As well as your demeanor and clothing choice for the audience. I didn't come here just to flatter you all evening, though lol - I own an advertising company and I work closely with youtube content creators. We digitally advertise your channel/videos in our Uber/Lyft vehicles that drive all over NY (including island and boroughs). Passengers are unable to skip advertisements, so my clients see a nice bump in advertisement revenue, as well as large exposure and views from hundreds of passengers per day.
