It's funny how one can sense how much anime you've watched because you're still not familiar with concepts such as the sports festival. Basically every school-based anime has a sports festival arc that ends up being very important to the plot. You'll learn in time.

People might think writing something like Bocchi is simple... but honestly I find it more impressive then most other show We often think of well written anime as those dark, action, full of twist anime and everything (and don't get me wrong, many of those I love a well)... but those are all easy thing to get the viewer engaged in But making the mundane engaging... that honestly pretty hard. Making a day to day life, without narrative full of twist, massive action scene and antagonists that pull thing by the string... its hard man, and making it so funny on top of it, with actually well written characters?

This is absolutely a shonen... shonen where the protagonist and antagonist are the same person.

A Ryokan is a traditional Japanese-style inn. When there are large group bookings, they put out banners like shown at the beginning of episode 7. Seishun Movie: Remember in episode 1 where she said she listened to anything that doesn't trigger her "seishun complex"? Seishun represents all the "normie" joys of youth. Dating, romance, doing fun things with friends, going to the beach together, seeing fireworks shows, etc. Basically it's a romantic coming-of-age movie that emphasizes good-looking, socially adept young people. The music from the time that Bocchi died and her miasma took Nijika and Kita with her is a pastiche of music from the early Hayao Miyazaki film, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Izakaya is a Japanese-style bar and grill.

22:42 that's a reference to a really old show called ashita no joe is about a boxer a exelet classic 13:15 that music is from Nausica of the wind valley an old movie by studio ghibly another clasic this show make a hell good references and with old I mean really old joe is from the 70's and nausica from the 80's
