Nah man, even if robots could replace you, people are still gonna watch sports and stuff made by humans :D. It's not like we don't have the Olympics anymore just because cars were invented.. People still draw with oil and coal and stained glass even though Photoshop is a thing, and so on... People still play the piano even though FL Studio or Ableton have been able to do accurate instruments for more than 10 years now... People just like watching other people doing things xD... The only way i can see this replacing humans is if someone makes a robots that REALLY looks like an actual human and then put it to compete against humans for prizes and money, but i think we're a little ways off from that... Not within our lifetimes probably...

6:45 funny about that, 9 years ago Boston Dynamics made a cheetah robot that could run at 28 mph, not very fast, but compared to a human...that is extremely fast, idk if they did anything with it or if the design was scrapped, bc it hasent been on their channel since.

Very few people ever really stop and think about what's involved in just taking a single step forward. Our brains are so good at learning a process, and then automating every piece of that and putting it into background mode that we don't even think about just how complex it is. All of the nerves in your feet and legs telling your brain about the shape of the terrain you are standing on, tilt angles of your feet. Couple that will real time video feed from your eyes that get combined into stereoscopic 3d, then frame analyzed and compared to track moving objects, hazards, obstructions. Image recognition to be able to tell what is and isn't an issue. 3d gyroscopic data from your inner ear giving balance and rotational information. Information from your other senses providing a full picture of the environment. Sounds that can be used as warnings of things you can't see or don't understand yet. ALL of this coordinated in real time every single fraction of a second. Your foot nerves report a sudden angle change in the ground, your eyes confirm and show the exact shape of this as your head tilts down to check. Your brain maps this change in 3d and alters your stride already in progress so your foot comes down where the ground now is, controlling all of the muscle groups down your leg, but also those in your back, arms, sides, etc to maintain balance, or regain it. Your planned route altered slightly instantly to adjust for this shift. Large rock ahead, go around, run up and over? And this robot is doing all of this. Someone had to sit down and write code that could handle all of this decision making. They didn't program each step into it. They taught it how to take steps. Taught it how to figure out which way it is falling and how to correct.

well whats more difficult a handstand or back-flip depends upon the design. though i would say the handstand because:(note i am not a robotics engineer but an enthusiast) 1.it's hand are not built for holding the body up in a balance(that's why the weird wrist movement). 2.the robot is heavy and moving something that heavy not instantly is difficult(that's why it does the backflip quickly). 3.it's legs are offset to front from its center of mass meaning robot naturally wants to roll backward more. They may have had harder time with time with the flip on landing but this is what i think

I don't think robots will replace anyone in terms of sport. I mean, in parkour for example, there are a lot of substitute for it: watching movies or videos (like yours), sport events and shows, playing videogames and so on. These are supposed to help the individual enjoy it without participating, but also inspiring. These robots are less of a substitution and more of an addition. If anything, it's like a videogame with parkour, you guys reacted to. They are both programmed in a way to emulate real movements is all we can see, but there is a shipload of work behind it to make it efficient and look good, including analyzing actual athlete's movements (you even said you recognised the movements of a fellow athlete in a game). If anything it's more job opportunity, but that's my opinion. Change my mind of you wish. Love your videos :)

You bring great insight to this topic/conversation! I think where there may be potential danger in the future is when reality/game Shows are created where they pit different Robots against each other on Obstacles courses and whatnot, similar to Ninja Warrior. That will definitely be very entertaining to watch and make take interest away from the Humans themself who do it

@@OmarZaki Thanks, kind of you to say that :) Well I can only speak from the consumer, my skills are of a beginner's at best, but I still enjoy to watching your stuff, your collegues', friends', collaborators' and a lot of others' because of the creativity, experinences, skills, the individuals, freedom, knowledge and so on. Thesecould not be replaced. It's more of a new vessel than a pilot, if you know what I mean. Like in the new planet of the apes or lord of the rings, the CGI is magical, but it would not have half the impact without Andrew Serkis' acting. The gameshow, you brought up, indeed sounds rather exciting, but sounds more like the fusion of ultimate tag and mythbusters, which is cool, but I'd still watch both, cause all has it's own exciting parts.
