Man! My son and I spent 3 hours (including 2 trips to the auto parts store) and were only able to change 3 of 8 plugs on our VP 5.8L. I can’t wait to get back in there after watching this video. I knew there was a trick!!! I’ll come back and hopefully report success

Heck yea! Glad you liked it. I’ve done the same thing before, in terms of driving back and forth to the auto parts store. I also have other videos too. Please subscribe and check them out!

You might want to invest in one of these. Snap On part# S9706 AFU. I've been a professional mechanic for 45 years now. And this is an essential spark plug socket that any pro mechanic will have in his toolbox. The swivel is built into this socket, and delivers the best angles and still turns without cracking the spark plug. www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Snap-On-5-8-Spark-Plug-Swivel-Socket-3-8-Dr-6-Point-Deep-S9706-AFU/293683773494?epid=1311862113&hash=item4460eac036:g:p0oAAOSwVapfMCkl

Awesome video Michael thank you very much! I had to pull my manifolds a couple weeks age which sucked having them connected to the big elbow joints and the Y-pipe. I appreciate the tip very much thank you Sir!!!

What I have used in the past, once the plug is loose, I used a length of coolant rubber line with the opening just snug enough for the ceramic part of the plug to grip and unscrew it by hand. Use same to rethread the plug then torque down with socket again.

will be trying this thursday to see if will work on 89 bayliner 5.8 omc. had hydrolock from cracked manifold and it sucked to remove plugs, all welded up I dont wanna remove them but if I get hydro lock again on water im putting socket and wrench in boat btw ur videos are awesome, subscriber for over almost a year. recently had lower unit replaced after numerous tries to get into forward learning from your vids. the gears were worn and previous owner raised shift rod to sometimes work which grinded them out. boat mech said all my work was correct in adjustment and lower shift cable replacement and so on... appreciate you

Do you have a video for the spark plug wire diagram?
@Steve-mt6de5 ай бұрын
Yes easy to do, my question is I have installed a per Tronics unit, should I still use the stock 302 spark plugs or should I upgrade to something a little hotter or platinum tips? Maybe I have the new blue Sierra wires I really like the video you did on that test two ohms resistance is great. I have a 1994 Ford 302 Seaswirl.

Why not just use the extension and elbows and reducers to also remove the plug and torque?

Hey! Read the comments on this one. The whole point of the video goes over how the standard methods don’t work. Please subscribe!

Appreciate your video BUT replacing plugs on my 5.7 GXI (2005 Cobalt 226) was easy with no special sockets required.

Hey Michael. Could you make a video how to correctly set the two chamber Holley carb? Do you have any hints?
@stevejohnson294 жыл бұрын
Whats a "two chamber" holley carb? Do you mean a dual bowl holley? And what are you trying to set? The float levels?
