Why? Surely through the years they have experimented on various keyboards and synths. The sound was popular in the late 70s when New Wave was becoming popular. Even Kraftwerk went to see them!

Went to a OMD show in Manchester in the early 80s. Some thirty years later I booked my ticket to see them in Adelaide in February 2025.
