Hey Bruce, great video! I couldn't agree more about how red hot Omega has been. I was a full on Rolex fan boy the last 7 years. I owned pretty much every steel sports model over that time. I just sold my last two Rolexes (Explorer II and Wimbledon dial Date Just) at a nice profit. I honestly got bored with Rolex and the recent games they play really turned me off. I've been going all in Omega the last few months and absolutely loving them. I started with a Planet Ocean and it never seems to leave my wrist. I'm planning to add the new Speedy Pro Moon Watch and a DeVille Tresor. I could add a few more and still have money left over from the sale of all of my Rolexes! I'm loving watches again.

Bruce, as always excellent positive content. We all love our fancy wind up toys/ men's Jewlery. The pices for Omega watches are getting to be EXPENSIVE. I went through my Omega buying binge in 2012. I thought at that time they were expensive. More like Jewlery now. I bought a 42mm PO 2500 C on rubber strap new for about 2k in 2012. The reference 165.024 Watch Co watches were fun. I liked the idea of people getting a "NOS" Omega for a reasonable price. The 2500 D PO, 2500 D 300SMPC FLAT DIAL, & 2500 D Aqua Terra were the last affordable three hand Omega's that you could buy new. The 7750 Co Axial models made around the same time were also somewhat affordable. Omega is no longer a mid tier brand. Kinda sad in a way.

I think these are just among the most handsome new watches we have seen since january 2020. I am in love with the sandwich dial and it's great for guys who can't wear a Panerai to be able to have that on wrist. The lumed bezel is probably the most appealing aspect along with the refined bracelet. I hope you get the blue one as that intrigues me the most. Great preview of these Bruce!

I am surprised by how different the overall look is from the 2014 version. I loved that model and this one as well. Only thing I don't really love is how they gave the steel version an aluminium bezel. I understand why they did it. But the 2014 version did combine retro inspired design elements with modern materials in a way that is a bit more satisfying to me. I also like that the 2014 version shows a little restraint in the use of that brown lume.
@WatchMeEDC3 жыл бұрын
Overall I like the changes to the 300. Sandwich dials are awesome (a la Panerai) and the case updates are really nice... but the heavy cream lume use is meh to me. “Vintage” should be earned over time rather than bought for instant gratification. No one wants to wait for anything nowadays 🤷🏻♂️

Not a fan of the faux lume or the lollipop seconds hand. Doesn't sit right with the hour hand. The bracelet is improved with more brushed surfaces. Being thinner is an improvement too. Overall nice watch but still could be better. The rado captain cook is similar looking , white lume markers , slimmer, and a third of the price or less. And you get more choice on bracelets and dial colourways on the watch. Yes the movement might not be as accurate, but it does boast 80 hours of power reserve, and will be cheaper to service too. The rado is lighter and more comfortable to wear also. If you want a quality alternative to this omega, then the captain cook is a good option for the money.

I think the blue would be great to see a review on. Overally I really like this update from Omega. I was a fan of the previous version, but I really love the way they treated the numerals on this release. My only suggestion is it would be great to see at least the black version come with white lume, instead of fauxtina. I really think that would make it a good alternative to the Submariner. Some of us like the vintage style, but don't want the watch to look like it's old, if that makes sense. I like what Topper did with their Oris Diver 65 release last year with the white lume.

Another side note. I had the previous gen in Titanium blue. The bezel was just awful. Not only was there play but you could wobble the bezel so there would be a gap on one side. Just about half a mm either way. It may not sound like a big deal but on a multi thousand dollar watch it was unacceptable. Seems like these thinner bezels don’t have the best action. I hope Omega corrected this on the newer models.
