Omega Planet Ocean - Good & Bad points!! Is this watch the real deal and is it Orange enough??

I got this grail watch yesterday! I was unsure at first whether to go with the white/orange, or the black model. I could not be happier with my choice, the white dial is just amazing, photos and videos doesn't do it justice at all. Also the orange bezel and details are so fresh and unique, I absolutely love this watch! Thanks for a great review, watched it more than once before pulling the trigger :)

Had this exact watch for seven months now. Don't worry about the size, it does wear smaller, and I actually love the weight, and I'm a skinny fella with 6.75 inch wrists. The crown and helium escape never once dig in to the wrist. I have loved this since minute one.

I got this watch today and absolutely love it. The thickness doesn't bother me and it certainly doesn't wear like a 43.5mm watch, and I love the orange. My daily driver for years has been a Sub bluesy and honestly I don't feel this is any larger despite the bigger diameter and thickness. I am a diver and do appreciate that though I don't usually wear the Sub or probably will never wear this at depth, at least I know I could. My usual workhorse under water is a Tag Heuer 2000 that has done over 200 dives with me and has been down to 45m and is still as good as the day I got it. Top quality review and I sense your excitement for this watch and I absolutely share that.

As I said on a previous comment I have the black dial with orange quarter on rubber strap, I wore it under a Rohan jumper and wax jacket in May when it kept raining and honestly forgot I had it on.

Great video Andrew! I own the same watch and have one major criticism which you missed. The polished steel hands against the white dial make it very difficult reading the time in low light conditions when the lume is not activated. Brilliant channel and keep up the good work mate :-)

Was in my AD trying on the blue an black and defo wears so much better than expected. Seriously considering one, because realised this watch makes some of my other well known brands look very boring. Beautiful watch Andrew. The white dial and orange bezel wouldn't put me off . I have a white watch and love the classic clean dial . But the elephant in the room is the thickness , I have seen this piece and it's chunky . Not a big fan of helium escape valve . If they managed to thin it down a bit it would take some beating . The clasp is certainly as good as the sub glidelock. Enjoyed the review mate . 👍

Proper bit of kit, is that! About to go try one of these. Gotta be the best colour. Original. POs wear so much smaller than spec. I know people bleat on about the thickness, but it's about the same as a Pelagos, Sea-Dweller or Marinemaster and none of them have that mint dome or exhibition case-back. Sound vid, subbed.

The Planet Ocean is a great watch, I have a first gen 42mm PO 2500, matte black dial/black bezel with white tri arabics and I've only grown to appreciate the classic design even more over the years, it's heavy which I like but it's bracelet and case are slightly slimmer than the newer models while still being a rugged 600m diver, Omega got the proportions right the first time around, I'm a little biased but it's still one of my overall favorite designed modern Omega diver's.

Keep that thought when testing future watches. That made me realize, "it is not so orange as you think", the white dial takes over. I live in Gothenburg, on the Swedish west coast.

i have a Planet Ocean and it definitely feels smaller than the 43.5 mm. I prefer the black dial and bezel rather than the white and orange. I think it takes some coolness to pull it off which I do not have.

I've often thought about this one. Well, wish they could shave a millimeter off the thickness. Otherwise it's beautiful. It has a lot of charecter, I feel like I connect with the design language much more than the Seamaster (nothing against it)

I have the blue dial PO 8900 and love it. I much prefer the older model that had the orange bezel with the black dial so the watch was more muted. White/orange bezel almost is too much. This color scheme would be hard to pull off with a suit unlike the other black/blue models. Wish Omega did this with the black ceremic bezel instead like the smp.

I'm a Panerai fan Andrew, both of my Luminors are approx 16mm thick and 44mm diameter. The Seamaster looks to wear much smaller than the Pams and its actual size. Its an amazing piece and I love the orange. Luxury watches, in my opinion should stand out and this one doesn't disapoint. Great content as usual.👍

For me it’s perfect 🤩 but for being a little bit big , but when I first saw the maxi case sub I thought it was to big now I love it . Also the 42 mm seamaster seemed to big at first now again it’s just right. I like to ask you, what do you think of the bat girl staying at 40mm , is it to small now? I've had mine 3 months now.. its perfect for what it is a 600m bomb proof dive watch. Its not too thick or heavy.. lose 2mm off it then its a 300m Seamaster! Agree could have a bit more going on with the dial and bracelet could do with some refining.. A Tudor Black Bay's bracelet at near half the price beats it easily for refinement and that quality feel.

The case thickness (16.5mm) is a real problem. The G.O. SeaQ Panorama Date comes in at 15.9mm. The Rolex Sea Dweller 43 comes in at 15.0mm. But of course, those models cost more and you get what you pay for.
