Omega Speedmaster MKII unboxing and long term wear watch review

Nice to see a modern watch being properly worn and enjoyed. The knocks and scuffs start to add character after a while, its when you only have a couple scuffs it looks worse. Great watch, I have an original non-racing but would like one of these in racing guise.

Thank you. The originals have so much more history and better sizing. I would love one but modern omega movements ( even 7753 alterations) are too good to pass up 😍.

All my watch’s get their share of love. Just noticed a scratch on my 1979 speedmaster mk 4.5 this morning. If they aren’t getting scratches they are being put up for sale 😁

I ultimately decided it was too much for my wrist but what a cool vintage looking watch with all the modern Omega awesomeness. The thickness is the deal breaker for me but it is a chronograph so.... Love the bracelet as well. These are a bargain on the grey market.

The thickness is serious. It’s not really much thicker then the Tudor black bay Chrono (original version) but it is at least to me more comfortable because of the case shape. I have an original speed master mark 4.5 and it’s thinner and has more complications so I end up wearing it more but I still really love this piece.

@@rightwristonly8796 Absolutely. I wear an Avigation Bigeye in the rotation. Essentially as thick but a 41 and om strap. Wears easier for me. The Mark 2 is a gem. Enjoy amigo.

It's Super Lumi-Nova,its brilliant,they do use a special chemical which is gased into its case for Ball watches but it does only lady for 5 years and then it has to go through the whole process again,that's why this Lumo is great because it lasts forever.

A man that doesn't 'baby' his watches. Excellent. I cringe every time I see or hear a new watch owner cry over every little scratch. Whats the point in buying them unless you are going to wear them? Excellent video. Nice watch. Do you still have it or did you flip it?

Wearing it today! It’s so good I bought a vintage Omega speedmaster 4.5 with the same case shape but more complicated movement. I’ll have to make a video at some point.

Oh man I totally forgot to talk about it. Added a written section at the end but the movement is a variant of the valjoux 7750 the 7753 which flips the layout of the subdials to 3/6/9 but requires the use of a button on the left side of the case to change the date. So you can not advance the date using the crown. The little plastic and rubber tool is so you don’t scratch the watch when changing the date. I don’t use it, I just use a toothpick 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is a very nice watch. Very substantial on wrist. By the way, the Olympic version has three registers that are gold, silver and bronze in homage to the medals awarded at the games. How is the accuracy day to day? Thanks for the review. --Michael

Your right! It’s is the Olympic medals. I don’t wear it for long enough periods to have a handle on it’s accuracy and I don’t have a time grapher. I will say it’s chronometer rated so it should be within 3/4 seconds a day in either direction.

Oooof yeah you can but I would not. It has a 100m water resistance so presumably it is safe to wear down to 100m, and I have never seen a pool more then 4-5m. The issue is the Chronograph pushers are not screw down pushers. So if you inadvertently push one while your watch is under water you could potentially flood your watch case and damage your watch fairly badly. TLDR - yes but don’t
